Mike,

TDR membership is not required. I would like to keep it all Cummins, but sooner or later those "other" diesels will want to show up. :-laf :-laf

Let me know when you're coming through, and I'll convoy down with you. Would you go 77 to 81? I'm right next door to you all.

Sorry I was out of the loop during the holidays! Whew! Hey there, Phil... where do we want to meet? There were a lot of good suggestions before. What is everyone's preference? I'll try to alert the place if you all want so that they can handle our crowd...

They closed the Western Sizzlin' location we used the first meeting. Something about the owner of the building would not sell the building or renovate it for the franchise holder, so he just shut it down. He still has two other locations, but I'm game for whatever everyone else decides. The key is having enough room in the parking lot...

What does everyone like to eat???

Yeah i will need to know place and directions myself, im game for food as long as its not Japanese, don't think to many of us are sushi eaters LOL..... just let me know... . can't wait i got it all planned and im off the 28th thank goodness

well do we want to do something close to the interstate so everyone coming from out of town can find it easily? If so you could do something at texas Steakhouse or applebees at valley view mall

What about something like Golden Corral in front of Sam's Club and near Lowe's and Kroger?

Here's a map: Click here

There is plenty of space in the parking lots around there for quite a few trucks, and room to eat if we want...

I hope we have a major turnout!

Golden Corral is easy to get to, and there definitely is a large parking lot. I second the motion.

Anyone coming up I-77/I-81 from Max Meadows, I will meet your convoy at Exit 118 in Christiansburg. There is a service road exit there, which doesn't require you to get off the highway. From that point to the Golden Corral is about 25-30 minutes.

Hope to see you on the 28th! Plan to arrive from 1230-1300. Please don't scare the natives.

and the one time out of the year i thought i would get to just be myself... . LOL

DieselRam make sure you wear your whistles with those bells LOL and you will be covered.

as cold as it's gonna be might not be much to cover lol, Naw i've been the jail i don't wanna go back. See ya'll in couple of weeks

Ok. For those of you coming to Roanoke, or at least this part of town, for the first time, here's the easiest way to get to Golden Corral.

Whether from 460, 220, or 81, get onto I-581. Take the Hershberger Road exit (see picture earlier in this post). Head in the direction of Valley View Mall, but get into the far left lane. This is also the exit for the Airport (Wyatt, try not look at the airplanes too much or you'll run off the road :-laf )

As soon as you leave the ramp and are on Aviation Dr, take the first right. There will be some trees blocking your view at first, but Sam's Club will be on the left, Kroger on the right. Just ahead is a traffic light. Golden Corral is on the left.

For the first ones there, try to pick a spot where we can get the trucks lined up. I'd like to take a group photo of them and us to post here. Oh yeah, point the windshield into the sun.

For those of you that want, spouses are welcome. Kids will have to stay out in the parking lot to wax the trucks. ;)

I will try and remember to not stare directly into the sky :-laf , good thing you told me those are planes, i thought they were huge buzzards :D ...

So Phil are we(those coming from my direction) to meet you at exit 118 in Christainsburg or just go on to The Golden Corral In Roanoke, I can do either one. And i will try to find a car wash between here and there to get rid of this good ol' Grayson dust and dirt and road salt crap :{

Wyatt,

I just got confirmation from CAROLINA CUMMINS that he will be making the trip. I am going to meet him In Christiansburg to convoy down. MRector had indicated he might be bringing a group from Galax, so if you want to meet with us, I'll plan a spot right off the exit, so we're not sitting on the side of the Interstate.

Phil,

How many do you think we will have? I will ask (more like warn) the folks at Golden Corral that we're plannin' to "circle the wagons" (trucks) there on Sat. the 28th about 12:30. I thought it might be good to forewarn them!

I've got you, me, CAROLINA, Wyatt, Ol Ratlr, Dieselram, CumminSense and 2 from Appomattox Co. as for sure attendees. Possibles are MRector, 1 from Rustburg, 2 more from NC. So if I cipher right, that would be from 9 to 13. Double the first turnout.

Do you know if they have a "special" room? I mean, we ARE pretty special!!
