The dealers issue may have been from the transition to wi tech2 or the system crashed at either the dealer or FCA's end.I always waited to update till the bugs were fixed.I tried witech 2 during a beta period and quickly went back to the old system.

I did too.....From what I've heard the old system will work until early 18, Than its another $$$$ to Make it work....Every time I power up WItech, it ask Me to update...I couldn't select NO faster. I was really careful when I bought My MicII pod, Again the seller has promised Me, it will work in 18, We'll see..... I and Nick been so Busy we cross paths at the shop and don't even have time to talk on My stuff, BC their always something goin on... I'm sure Bob4x4 and any other Shop tech knows what I mean.... And for all the guess and members its like this " at times what's done/said in the shop stays in the shop" I would like to disclose My connection(s) relationship or contacts info directly to help others".....That's why I say call. BC morally bankrupt snojobs believe in leaks to harm / discredit anyone so they can go form bad to worst, twisting up what ever than can.

so I went in for a P20EE code, and they did the T05 recall on my 13, 3500 Laramie Longhorn, 2 weeks later the P20EE is back... so they SOLD ME a DEF INJECTOR... said it tested bad... now 2 weeks later my P20EE is back... with EACH trip to the shop they did some kind of flash... SO DID I REALLY NEED THE DEF INJECTOR... are there specific tests on the unit on the bench to verify that its bad...

I'm now 500 miles from my dealer, and the LOCAL dealer is saying.... well maybe the second week of OCT we can get you in.... and BTW we think there is a link to the P20EE code to using B5 to B15 fuel.... I'm now in western OR and I'm looking at all the pumps... there is no basic diesel... every pump has B5 to B15 fuel..

So tomorrow I'm calling my dealer back and asking for a refund on the DEF injector and the labor... Would love to hear your thoughts and comments... especially from the techs... Thanks... JIM

I've Been running B5-20 In My 13 Cummins and Ecodiesel from new, My 14 and same fuel until I sold it. No P20EE or P202E SCR NOx CATALYST EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD- BANK 1

There is a test procedure on the truck to actuate the def injector for a set time while it is spraying you inspect the spray pattern. When the time is up you measure the volume.

So I'm slightly confused (or perhaps the dealer is?)

Received a notice in the mail re both T05 and T25 a few weeks ago so I finally called and made an appointment. Dealership says this will take less than an hour as it is simply a flash (T25) and inspection (T05). I explained it was my understanding the T05 involves replacement of SCR and removal of ammonia sensor, his reply was they are to merely inspect and if necessary order parts which necessitates another trip to the dealer which is a PIA given my schedule. I asked him what exactly they are inspecting he could not answer that. I'm confused what they need to inspect. Seems straight forward according to many of the posts on here. FWIW this dealer is the closest to me (25 miles) and not a mover of diesel trucks. They don't even have any new diesels on the lot. Should I find another dealer? The closest one that actually sells diesel trucks is over 60 miles from me. I'm thinking it may be worth my time to take it elsewhere.

I would print out the attachment in Post # 67 and hand it to them ( In the 1st Sentence under Models 2013 - 2014 (D2) RAM 3500 Pickup
NOTE: This recall applies only to the above vehicles equipped with a 6.7L
Cummins turbo diesel engine (sales code ETK)

It has been determined that this Emissions Recall is necessary, and the plan has been
submitted to the California Air Resources Board and the United States
Environmental Protection Agency. Under the plan, FCA is assisting by working with
you to facilitate the recall. The subject of this recall is that some MY2013 through
2014 RAM 3500 vehicles may experience deactivation of the selective catalyst
reduction (SCR) system. This can cause tailpipe emissions of oxides of nitrogen
(NOX) to exceed the emissions standard .

Ask them to order the parts and are they willing to perform this recall . Its NOT optional, NOT to perform. So at some point in the future this recall will need to be done... Unless its salvage out in crash...or fire...

A good dealer will do their best to have parts on hand for any recalls that are current. It is an excellent opportunity to earn a new customer. You might want to call another shop and gauge their response/interest in taking care of you

Thank you for the link Todd. Much appreciated.

I will call the dealer in Chardon tomorrow and see what they have to say. The more I think about it I'd rather drive the extra distance for piece of mind, they are probably the largest volume dealership within 2-3 hours of here and no doubt have alot more experience than the local shop.
Thank you both for the suggestions.

Well' the saga begins. Dropped the truck off yesterday for the SCR recall. On the way to work this morning I got a MIL. I went back this afternoon and they pulled a code for NOX sensor. They brought it in and checked connections, then cleared the code. By the time they got it back out front the service manager said it already had the same code pending. They're ordering a new sensor to be replaced as part of the recall, at no charge. They're being very helpful but I can't help but think this isn't the last I'll have to deal with the this problem. What makes me angry is I left a faultless truck with them and now I'll be at 3 trips for a problem that didn't exist before I let them touch my truck. I also understand stuff happens, but it's still discouraging to loose work over something that I should have known better than to let happen.

Yup, sure understand that one. Years ago I took my 96 into the dealer for the recall on the throttle linkage. When I got it back the intercooler boot was not attached. The next day the cruise stopped working. Found the end of the cable that attached to the linkage had glue on it. Went back to the dealer again for the cruise and asked about it. They said it had been that way. I said - oh really - why would someone find the small plastic pieces if it broke when operating since there isn't anything under there that would catch those pieces. They then provided a new cable.

If they would have told me it broke and they needed to order one I would have been fine with it - stuff happens. But to deceive......nah......never went back there.

Well, just an update. I had my 14 T05 Recall done several weeks and a few thousand miles ago and I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. So far no issues. Truck runs great and it, by both the lie-o-meter and paper calculations, seems to be getting about 1 - 1.5 mpgs better than before. The increase in mpg's might be change of habits or actual, YMMV. I do the same couple hundred miles per week back and forth to work with a couple hundred mile + weekend road trip at least once a month.
Next on the list, coming up on 65K and CCV filter change.
Those who have had issues, make sure to ask and confirm the flash actually took. It should show on the print out. From what I've been reading the #1 cause of issues has been the tech saying he performed the required flash and not being able to confirm it. A whole lot of stuff changed out and removal of sensor(s) so without a confirmation of the correct flash, I can see issues happening.

Mine was done on July 28th. No issues to date. Thousands of these have been completed with only a few problems noted here.

What is the exact code?If they did not choose the correct update it will continue to see a sensor missing thus tripping a code

I thought the recall removed just the ammonia sensor. I don't know the code but the service manager said it was for the NOX sensor. Unfortunately, , the tech I know personally is on vacation. Hopefully I'll get the real story when the new sensor arrives.

I had tought that fuel mileage improved after T05 recall. Today I fueled up at 377 miles and hand cal said 18.4 for mixed driving. Which includes several round trip in and outs of the summer RV park at 5-8MPH for ten minutes each way. Park is large on 360 acres and 22 miles of roads. We are near the back.

Lie-o-meter was indicating 18.7, the closes the two have ever been. SnoKing

NOX sensor replaced yesterday. 350 miles, no mil yet. The service advisor tried to hit me with $100 deductible on my extended warranty. The place got real quiet by the time I left.

I had the recall done on mine at 37,750 on June 23rd and the DEF tank was topped off. So far I'm at 45,057 with zero issues. Since that service I've added one 2.5 gal jug of DEF and I'm almost to the 50% mark on my gauge now. Fuel mileage is running about the same as before though when the truck does a regen my mileage suffers by about 1.5 MPG. YMMV.

For reference, my truck commutes about 45 miles one way to work, tows a horse trailer every one in a while, and does have the potential for extended idling when on fire department scenes when I don't pick up an apparatus.
