I'm back from a 2400 mile trip to Colorado and thought I'd give my impressions of the TAG unit I installed the week prior to departure.
As others have reported, it seems to quieten the engine down. Noticed this when I first started it up. Smoke is reduced off idle and turbo lag was reduced as well.
I didn't have a opportunity to evaluate the fuel mileage impact since we ran fairly hard going out. My normal mileage on this trip is about 14mpg and on this trip I had a average of about 13. 5 going with a worst of 12. 5 on one tank. On the return trip I had intended to drive at similar speeds over the same stretch of road between Amarillo TX and Oklahoma City and check mileage. Unfortunately, we were fighting a 25 plus mph headwind on this stretch and saw 12mpg. At about dark the wind died as we approached Arkansas and the next tank was 14. 5mpg.
So, while I can't report on fuel mileage yet, the TAG does have positive benefits of quicker spool-up and less smoke. As time allows I'll post mileage changes if any.
