Cant wait to install this beast and drive it. I cant say enough about how South Bend Clutch listens to the consumers and help design products. I will let you guys know how she does.

I hope you'll have it installed by the time I visit in a couple o' weeks. I need to have a ride in that truck! Maybe it will make me want to go in the other direction again ;)

Peter's the man! I was wishing for that product when I made my original clutch choice. I'm excited for the manual trans guys. This, I bet, will be the ultimate do-it-all clutch!

Well... if you take a look at the center plate where it lugs in the flywheel you will see it is strapped for that very reason. ;)

Peter

OOPS! Didn't notice that. Excellent.

I'm also raising and waving my hand and going "Oooh! Ooooh! Ooooh!" for and upgrade deal!

peter,

will this setup work with the g56 trans also? if not do you plan on making one for the owners of the g56 trans?

thanks

I guess it is OK to say... . they are working on it at this point in time. They hope to have it designed so that the plates are interchangable

Awesome!

Peter mentioned this to me about a year & half ago at Indy and I was just wondering about this the other day while I was shopping for a new DD. Guess I'll wait until you get the bugs worked out before I shop anymore. Thanks SBC!!

I'll be waiting in line for this Oo. . Was was thinking about switching back to a single disk, but with this setup, I'll keep the DD if... ... ... .

Will you still have to worry about idiling the truck to long and ruining the clutch disk hub????

that is one nice piece... hey mills want someone to help you beat on that clutch a little. i can tear up just about anything. LOLOLOL..... kyle

Very interesting but I just saw a show on TV about ATS and they were pushing there new Disc with springs, looked a lot like yours, are they reselling it or just working on the same ideas.

Peter, how did you overcome the clearance issues with the addition of the new hub springs? Did you balance the assembly with the springs stagered? Is it a direct bolt in, or are there other details that need attention during install like the pivot ball position? Will it be SFI out of the gate?

I know this will be a sweet clutch when the R&D is done and it comes to market. Oo.

Of course a couple of months after I stick a new one in my truck.....

Just kid'n Peter! ;) Maybe We can work out an upgrade about this time next year since I just got this new(to me) house & wife thing going! :-laf

Its in!!

We installed the new clutch yesterday afternoon and i cant say enough about how the clutch performs. The install was straight forward. It comes with new flywheel bolts that are shorter than the stock ones. You however cant use the flat washers due to the depth of the bolt hole (resessed). The rest of the install was great. Drivability is the best you can ask for. Smooth engaugement with no noise what so ever. Pedal pressure is very nice and very user friendly. You cant hear anything at all engauged or disengauged at idle or going down the road. The low rpm with a sudden rush of power growl that the unsprung hub had is very, very slight. I feel confident with more miles on the clutch that the springs will soften up and take all the low rpm growl out. I did go back out and launched it in 3rd to see how she performed. The launch was smooth and flawless less the tire shake and smoke. We did however find a issue with the flywheel assy. The engine has a vibration and we sourced it to the flywheel. Peter is going to send me a new complete assy with our revised ideas. The ballance issue will be resolved and the pedal engaugement height will be lowered about 1''. With a 1'' lowered engaugement pedal height it will be hard to tell that any difference between a oem clutch and a duel disk. I can honestly say that South Bend Clutch has a complete 100% Winner. A clutch that has driving manners of a single with no ill side effects and absolutly no noise issues at idle or at low rpm cruise. Come monday am Peter will be sending me the new revised assy. I will let you guys and gals know how it works.
