Take the gear shift knob off

How do you get the knob off?

take a small screw driver and pry out the plastic piece that has the shift patern on it, remove the lock nut (15mm I think) unscrew the knob.

You'll probably have to grab the shifter shaft with a pair of vice grips or similar tool to keep it from rotating. If you don't, you'll back the whole assemble off from the transmission.
