OK... so yesterday afternoon I take the truck in for an oil change (truck at 22K) and have the leaky coolant hose at the back of the engine replaced. Dealer says that they have to keep truck overnight to fix hose. No biggie...
I told the tech that while he is at it and now had more time... to hook up the Star Scan tool and check and see what is up with the extra white smoke and perceved lack of power again. (Had truck in once before with same problem and they repladced the rail pressure valve at like 15K)
Tech also mentions that he notices some fuel leakage near the CP3.
I get a call this am from the service writer and says that my CP3 is bad and they have to get one out of Denver and they need to keep my truck overnight.
I must suck at the search here... did not find any posts about dead CP3's... just a bunch of lift pumps. At 22K should my CP3 take a dump?? What would cause it to "fail"? I am assuming that since the truck ran OK when I took it in... it is that the CP3 cannot make "high enough pressure"
Will find out more tomorrow I guess...
