Pizza Cutters anyone?

Are you still liking these??

How are they wearing? Estimated miles to wearout?

Do they perform well?

I'm looking for a set of taller tires currently... drop some RPM.
Steve,my friend has a truck similiar to mine. He went from 325-70-17 Toyo AT's to 285-75-17 Toyo AT's. Tailwag dissappeared and highway stability much improved. He's currently got 16,000 on them and I'd say with his load he'll get another 16-20,000 SAFE miles out of them. They are nearly silent. I'm hoping Nitto will cut loose with a Dura Grappler in "75" series. "Invasion of the Pizza Cutters" coming to a town near you. :)

yes, sure do. They look to be wearing very good. . I have not really put many miles on them yet though so I do not have any estmates on milage

The actually go great in the snow and ice, more than I thought

Steved, I have the same Toyos as Tomey does and they are wearing perfectly. they are rated at 3970lbs per tire when aired to 80psi and they carry my toy hauler without any sway or buckling. I have about 20K on mine and look to get another 20K pretty easily. they are a 40K warrantied tire, so we should at least get that out of them. They have great traction in snow and ice and do well in light mud and grass. As long as I get 40K+ out of them I will replace them with the same thing. They do make the same tire in an MT, but I don't need them, these tires worked fine in Idaho, NY and anywhere else I really need to go. I recommend them to anyone asking because they are such well built tire, and balance very easily. Scotty

Look up three lines or so...

Tomey, I can't find a listing for a Toyo Open Country AT in the 285/75/17, and 34", the closest size I can find is the 285/70/17 at 32. 7" I wonder if they discontinued the 75 series ones?

About three lines up you'll see 285-75-17's on this website. With my G-56 I could still use an "E" rated 35" AT. Vortrac is the only one I see available. I worry about them need massive amounts of weight like my BFG KO's needed.

Thanks, I missed them there:eek: I have had really good results in the past with Toyo tires, they are IMHO one of the best brands out there. Those tires you have look like to be a great all round tire, should do decent on/off road without loosing highway performance and will be my next set. Thanks for taking the time to post.

While thin ones are good for added mpg's are they that great for loaded down use? If you were towing with 2K in the bed seems more rubber would be better. Isn't that why the super single is a wider profile?

I am 110% pleased with mine as well. Very good in terms of sidewall flex while corner carving, as well as very good on the ice and snow... (alot of siping)

mileage so far seems to be on par with 40-50k - only issue is diesel nats, that mean more like 20k for the rear tires... .

IMO, I like more lbs per square inch the tall/skinny provides inthe rain over the grip on the drip pavement of a wide tire

AND PS - aired to 75psi on the highway these tires really roll easy

Totally agree with that, I keep mine at 80psi cold. They wear great and the ride is pretty good also. Hard to change when they do about everything well. If I was to get into more off road, I may switch to the MT, but the AT does everything I need it too. Scotty

BFG just released 255/80R17 E rated in KM2. Its about 33. 3". Four Wheel parts has them. I just need another 2", say 35's with that cross section and I'd be a happy man.

I have heard they do, but there was a proviso that went with it that didn't really apply to the way I use them. I've been over 80 MPH on mine (ask me how I know that) and they're quite fine.

Where in the heck were you able to find a set of Michelin XLs? I absolutely love the look of those tires, but I assumed with all the military action over the past 10 years that they'd be impossible to find.

Do you need a lift with those, or will they fit a stock truck?

Mike
