That is the perfect size tire, how is the ride on the road, roadnoise, mileage change? How is treadwear? Do you have any type of lift kit?
I know you were talking about another size tire, but look over my info about tires.
I have the stock Michelin LTX A/S tires, LT 265/70 R70, "E rated" 30" dia.
I have 127,500 miles on the tires, still 1/16" of rubber to wear bars left.
I allways rotate every 7,500 miles, keep the PSI at 45 / 45 and never have had a flat or had the need to balance the tries from the factory balance.
I do increase the PSI to 50 / 65 when carring heavy loads.
I have often thought about converting to the 19. 5 rims and use 33" dia. skinny tires in the "F rating" but what I have been told is the increase rotational weight kills the MPG's and the F and G ratings make the drive rougher.
Now that diesel got up over 5. 00 a gallon last year, and will go up soon just because of pollitics and Big Enviro, the last thing I want is a MPG killer: heavy tires, wide tires, tires that stick out beyond the body, lifted truck.
In fact I am so impresed with these Michelin LTX A/S tires, I bought a set of used tires from another Dodge guy, he install some big off-road tires on his truck. The tires were made in 06, so I have till 2011 for the recommended five year safety margin DOT date to expire. I put no more than 21,250 miles in a year on the truck, so I figure I will get 42K on them by 2011. The tread life on these used tires are 50% gone.
