Competition how to make a 4500 survive?

The Grassy Fork VFD is having their annul labor day pull and fish fry this Friday at 6:30 pm. The have listed an 8000 lb diesel truck class. The truck class was pretty good this spring, but many people are not aware of the fall pull because it is just one day. The spring pull crowd was estimated at 8000 people. Thats right 8000. Tampico is located 45 minutes north of Louisville Kentucky, or 1 hour 15 minutes south of Indianapolis. Its about 10 miles off of interstate 65 on highway 39. Admission is free and bring your lawn chairs. Its a good track and sled. All the proceeds go the help support the fire department.

The class is listed as 8000 open diesel truck. The contact is Phil Teipen 812 522 0305. I believe its kind of a run what you brung class. It was just one class this spring, but i beleive when Schied and Haisley ran that they put them in a an exhibition class. Some one can correct me if im wrong???, But if you are looking to hook, they will work with you, theyve been running a pull for 30 years, and are easy to work with.

The spring pull was an IN super farm hook. The flyer I got in the mail for Friday's pull said open diesel. You can call Phil and find out what ya need to know.

Tampico is by far my favorite place to pull. If you've never been, you have to go and check it out! Get there VERY early if you want a seat. They draw a crowd bigger than Scheid's and Muncie put together. Grassy Fork boys know how to throw a party! Beer welcome!!

There were only 5 trucks in the whole class. 2 twin turbo dodges not sure who they were, but both were at schieds. 3 powerstrokes, a 6. 0 liter, a 7. 3 and a heavily modded 7. 3 from somewhere around Nashville IN. He blew a line off the intercooler at about 30 ft. The dodges took first and second. The 6 liter got 3rd.

I thought for sure that Dodge was 1,2 and 3. Andy Shureck was 1st Zeb Short 2nd and Scott Burton got 3rd so I thought but I never heard for sure. Zeb won the spring pull, he broke his output shaft on the transfercase this time and still managed 2nd.
