Does cooler fuel enhance power and performance?

I need advise

Has anyone ever seen the inside of a cummins engine after 2 stroke oil was used in the fuel to lube the injection pump.

How did the head look, cylinders, piston and most importantly the piston rings?

I would be more worried with the catalytic converter life than the inside of the engine. You will definitly increase the emissions and my harm the system fairly quick. The industry still uses a fair amount of zddp in 2 cycle oil. It will plate out in the converter and shorten the life.

Just use a additive that is designed for this. It will be cheaper than TCW 3 oil. Besides now that we are having to produce ultra low sulfur diesel, most are adding a lubricity agent into the fuel.

When you say shorten the life and plate out the catalitic converter what do you mean?

If you mean plug it that would not be good.

If you mean it would just render it inoperable it wouldn't bother me, I live where they don't do emission testing. :)

First inoperable then it would lead to restricted flow. We see this with passenger cars that don't get regular oil changes. They start to wear the rings and burn oil. First thing that goes is the converter.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, I have been away for a couple of days.

Thanks, looks like I'll be sticking to just fuel additive or I could gut the converter.

I wouldnt think a couple ounces a tank would plug a converter that fast?

You start talking pints & quarts... ... then youre on your own.

They've been putting converters in dodge diesels since 1994, and the sulphur content (and oils) was quite a bit higher back then than it is now.

Diesel is much more like a solvent now than a fuel oil.

I dont have to worry about it, I have a 1998, but this is just my . 02.
