I really hate to see you go OILBRNR, Ive just re-joined a few months ago and love it just like I did in 96'. My hope was to meet as many of you as I could at different events, while we all have are qwerks at stuff and yours OILBRNR are legit and I do understand because if people like you dont express concern things dont change for the better for all of us. So I hope you stay!:D See-Ya John

Aww, stick around

Don, no need for that unless you got yourself booted by the management. One thing we all agree on is that it is a shame when someone leaves and takes what they have to offer away from the board. When I get in a mood like that I usually vent at my wife. Believe me, it is much safer to do it here than at home!

And remember this- Beer is cheaper than therapy!

OILBRNR

Do as you wish, but remember all members are valued, it is a shame to let this one issue burn bridges between you and TDR. I would like to think of TDR as a large neighborhood were people can forgive and forget the little things. I was brought up to help a neighbor without being asked, and not to stick my hand in their pocket for doing so. I would like to think that the people at TDR think the same.

Boy, If I had known that asking a simple question like "where to get a TDR decal" was going to start something like this... . I hope to think that I didn't cause all of this... surely this dissatification would have come out in another post???

Any way, I am a new member (<30 post) but had visited the site from time to time as a guest. I really like this site and the friendliness of everyone here. I liked the fact that I saw people (much like myself) asking very simple questions and getting respectful answers. Not at all being negative towards them for asking something "Basic". I also like the fact that this is a "paid" site. I think someone mentioned that it kept the "rif-raft" out. I have to agree. Having to pay before you can post limits all of the brand-X people from getting in here and either slamming our rides, ideas or playing the TDR members against each other.

As for the stickers/decals or anything like that, I do think that for $35 we should be given a decal, and from what I gather, we are. You just have to ask for it! I agree that it would be much simpler if we just got them in the mail with our mag or sent after we joined but it is not. I don't run this site, nor did I become a voting member when I paid my $35 to join. I respect the owners of this site and if this is the way "they" what to do it, then that is something that I live with. It is their baby to do with what they want.

The only reason I asked about the decal was that I pass some really nice TD's on the road in my area and I often wonder if they are memebers or if they know about the site. Now as it is, I have to wait and see if anyone in my area sees my posts and goes out of their way to send me a note to let me know they are local also.

Before any of my post, I ALWAYS seach the topic and read everything I can find on the topic before I ask it again. I think this is only logical. However, for this question I didn't! I wish I had and I may have gotten the jest of the magitude of the bombshell I was about to set free.

Being a new member, I don't ever want to do anything that will cause anyone to think that HANEY is a troublemaker. I ain't. Just ignorant sometimes... .

Jamie, don't sweat it man, there is NO WAY you could have known what was going to happen. No one is looking down on you in any way for posting an innocent question in earnest. Thanks for your courtesy in posting and searching topics prior to posting. Keep up the positive attitude.

Jamie,

I hope you did not think I was picking on you when I was ranting about new guys and their posts. This was not the case and if I offended you I am sorry. As for the entire post, like LSMITH said, its not your fault. The question you asked was fine. Sometimes these threads take a weird detour on the way to the answer of the question. Keep asking quesions and we will keep answering them with what we know.

JR2

Naw you didn't cause anything Jamie-I'm still not sure how this thread veered off to where it did... . or why I stuck my foot in it either!

But there were some legitimate points brought up in it... . the big question is will anything get done about it? The cynical side of me says no... . but time will tell I suppose.

Jason

I walked ahead of the game, burned the third eye, I believed in nothing... .

(Points to the 1st person who can ID the band that wrote that gem of a line-bet there's nobody on here!)

JR2,

I didn't think you were picking on me. I guess I was just reflecting on how I could have avoided stepping in this... . You have always been one of the first to answer my questions and have always been very helpful. Thanks man!

Glad no one is ill at me!

On a lighter note,

I got my Boost gauge, EGT Gauge, and Ray T drilled Banjo bolt from Geno's yesterday..... The 3-gauge Pillar and Westach fuel pressure gauge is back ordered... . Hope the rest doesn't take long to get here. I am getting anxious... ... ... ... .

Later,

Thanks Fireman Dave!!!

The 69 was my first car! I have owned the 70 for about 2 years, and the 68 is a project my dad and I are doing. It is finished except for the motor. I will pick the parts up at the machine shop this week and assemble. Man I love building motors... .....

The magic song era!

Real recent Steve-in fact I doubt that the CD's even south of the border... you'd have to hit one of the file-trading places to hear it. I found it by accident at a local record shop-the band is called Portal. Kind of a mix between electronica and hard rock-a lot like Nine Inch Nails actually. I just like that line-I have no idea why though!

Jason

I never would have guessed:confused:

I keep up on some of the new stuff, but I'm more of an 80's hair band fan. Of course that's when I still had hair... LOL. :D

I'm with Dave!

I'd love to have any one of your rides sitting in my driveway... . I'm real partial to the '71's. Probably like the 2nd gen Charger the best though-but I like the 3rd gen ones too... hey if it's Mopar it's good no matter what!

Jason

drooling at the thought of Jamie's cars now :)

I'm partial to the 2nd gen. Chargers also

Mine was originally a 4bbl 383 police interceptor in Western Oklahoma (supposedly). When I was doing the mechanical work, I found a guy in South Carolina who had some '72 forged crank 400 short-blocks for $600 buck. They were still in the box from Chrysler! All I did was take it apart, clean the cosmolene out, and put new bearings in (along with a new cam and everything else). Right now I'm in the middle of body work. Lots of trunk rust.
