In this thread, please post information about yourself or other members of TDR who are involved in overseas operations during the war on terrorism, so we can all take a look here to remember who we should be spending extra time thinking of and praying for.

Thank you, Doc

EDIT: Real names are not necessary, for we know you best by your handle. I agree that all military personnel, police officers, firemen, National Guard, Coast Guard and vollunteers for the Red Cross and other organizations, whether they are stateside or abroad, are at risk and should be included in our prayers.

If you are uncomfortable posting in your own behalf, please email me @ -- email address removed --, with your TDR user name and branch of service. I will post the information for you.

Just as I started to read Doc's post, over the radio came Ozzy's "Mama, I'm coming home"

Got me all choked up. I Hope that ALL of our brave men and women can say the same..... They will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Jeff

My thoughts and prayers are with them. My hope is also that the press has enough class not to give coverage to the areas that the ENEMY loves to hear and see. Peace demonstrators (traitors)

The military and Comander in Chief has a hard road ahead and need all our support.

This is a great thread.

It about time we stand up for our country and those who so fearlessly defend it. We take so much for granted. It is a shame that it took a tragedy like the WTC, and Pentagon "bombings" to wake us up. God has blessed us with so many things we are a spoiled nation. We need to get back to the basics: God, family and country. God bless all those in military service, those who have lost loved ones, and those in leadership positions. If we keep our priorities in the right order, God will continue to bless our great nation and people. Ours prayers are with you.

May you have a safe journey where ever you go and return to us all in the same condition you left.

good intentions, but please don't....

Doc -

This is a well intentioned idea and your heart is in the right place but it violates the basics of counter-terrorism for those of us in the military. If you or we post our name, rank, unit that can tell a terrorist a lot of information in an easy to obtain area. Think about it tactically here: unit tells them what kind and rough numbers of people being deployed. Names mean that if someone gets caught, they can't make up a story for the interrogators or anything. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

And what's even worse, since we're dealing with terrorists who don't play fair, they could use that information to do something bad to our families left behind, making us less effective fighting men and women. Could, and likely would.

Please leave well wishes, but don't use anyone's real name or location or even the fact that someone is over there doing something in any capacity. Thank you.

Well wishes for the military folk

Sir,

With all due respect... put your body in the shoes of those family members that are left behind. We are told that they are being sent to some foreign country, half a world away. We can see them leave, but are not told where they are. We are dam lucky that we get word that they arrived safely. They won't even give out an address right now so we can write to them. It is really nice to see that other members of the Armed Forces are out there and that we can say a prayer for their safe return also. Yes, we all understand the security protocols that are in place to protect the military... but here's a little tidbit of info for you... log on to CNN.com and click on bases. It will show you where the Navy ships are and about where the bases are for everyone else. NOW, if the terrorists aren't supposed to know abut this, how in the h&ll did the media find out and the spouses don't know either??

Just think about it... .

Air Force wife and Dam proud of it

No offense, Doc, but you should open it up to those who are have been called up and are working in the states. Like the National Guard at the airports, or the Coast Guard boarding inbound ships, the Air National Guard flying Sky Marshall missions over the large cities. Right now, it doesn't matter where you are, it's dangerous. Especially if you are in the military. Semper Paratus (Coast Guard motto... ... . Always Ready). Doing my thing on the Right Coast.

All uniformed personel

Well Mr. Reagan,

You just did. Anyone who wears a uniform and puts their butts on the line to protect me and my family: THANK YOU!! May your jobs remain without incident and return to normal soon.

Sherry Hinson

I'll just say that I have a family member involved somewhere other than the USA. I hope this person will be ok. Good idea with the sticky and all.

One of my best friend's son just completed jump school. He's awaiting orders, to where he doesn't know. It's been 10 years since I last wore the uniform. It was always nice to know the home front was behind us, even in peacetime. My prayers and best wishes for a job well done are with all service members.

Sherry - Well worded responses. May your husband and all other people (uniformed, and other) that are protecting OUR country come home safe!. My prayers are with you and them.

Doc

Very nice of you to start this.

My good friend's son: PFC Batke, USMC. God speed.

BTW... ... . In Idaho, I felt fairly insulated because I didn't know one poor soul in New York. My son, however, lives in Colorado and his best friend is a 26 year old transplanted engineer from New York. He knew 12 college acquaintances from the WTC tragedy. When I think of the thousands of family members and friends shattered by this debacle it pisses me off. Y'all have my prayers.

Good Luck Alan. Enough said about that, nothing needs to be said further. If I can assist let me know!

Hope that everyone that that has family members deployed is safe and comforted during this time of trial and tribulation.

Everyone is doing their job, whether it is at home keeping the house, children and yard straight, or patrolling the streets of our hometown keeping the less desirable folks in place, or spilling the body fluids of our enemies with a knife, rifle, or with a laser guided missile/bomb.

We all have to support one another, as this will get far worse before it gets better.

Mr. Reagan,

November 157 Loud and Proud!!

My son is with the CG stationed on the Gulf Coast. My heart and prayers go out to all the men in the different services. If you don't get choked up a little reading these posts, maybe you should give your patriotism a little reality check.

Good thread, Doc. And I do agree with the others who say it is best not to give rank, names, and locations. Praise God for honerable men willing to serve our country!

Yesterday, One of my crew member's and I were walking downtown and a stranger (tourist, no doubt) approached us to tell us what a great job the military is doing right now. That, and the words from you guys mean a lot. Believe me, although this is not front line fighting overseas, duty here is stressful with long hours lots of looking at things that we never thought twice about before. We are being vigilant and protective and I have never had a crew with higher morale over a sustained, high tempo operation. Thanks to the TDR members for their support. It means alot to all of us who have been called to active duty as well as those who were active already. Alan

Hear, hear... Georgian! Everyone is being really supportive of the military here in Colorado.

Active duty or not... THANK YOU for everything that y'all do!!
