Mine's given to me by my work so I can't really use it for personal business. BUT... have you guys all found the D/C feature to work well? Lately, around SE Michigan, the service is terrible! Lots and lots of "User Unavailable" (when they really are!), "User Busy in Data" (When they aren't doing ANYTHING) and then the best one- just a tone and no connect OR error message. Then when you are lucky enough to get through you get the audio all chopped up. This happens on different models of phones and with FULL signal on the S-meter! Around the office we all have come up with a new version of the NEXTEL slogan... . "NEXTEL... . It's How Nothing Gets Done!" :(

Might want to get your phone checked, mine is fine. 131*1420*639

btw, the Nextel invoices can list cell call detail, but not DC call detail other than total minutes.

I don't want to rain on anybody's parade here, but...

You might want to check your plans, coast to coast can be free if you originate the call in your "home area". If you are traveling out of your home area and originate the call, you could get charged. Also, most plans have a "free" minute limit, typically starting at 250 minutes, unless you are on an unlimited DC plan, which is unusual. Usage above your plan could result in charges.

Walkie-Talkie Services

I am not proclaiming to be an expert on this, but I have managed telecommunications for years, and I currently manage 200 Nextel units at work. All I am recommending is to check your individual plans. You might be just fine, but I'd be sure before being shocked by my next invoice.

I just got ride of my Nextel back in August, and went back to Verizon.

Coverage outside of a main city in my area... . well... . SUCKED! :-{} #@$%!

Have since went back to Verizon because I travel to much to truck shows and pulls during the summer and I couldn't justify $75 a month for a phone I could hardly use at times. Really does suck because more and more of my friends at the events are getting Nextel's now. :(
