Dodge Bighorn

Fuel cost versus lube oil cost

There is a post here: http://forums.thedieselstop.com/ubb...&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=31&fpart=1&vc=1

It's about the 6. 0s problems. Well, I posted about how there is no way a new truck should be having problems before 10,000 miles and to brag about trucks being "perfect" or the "best truck I have ever owned" before it's got 10,000 on the clock is rediculous.

Went over there to see if anyone was trying to prove me wrong and it said I was the last poster but I checked anyway.

My post had been deleted! Guess they can't handle the truth about the "POS 6. 0h, on my 3rd buyback",. "I MEAN THE PSD 6. 0 greatest truck in the world".

So hows your sandbox coming? I really like your comment "I posted about how there is no way a new truck should be having problems before 10,000 miles" considering I just got back from helping a friend with a 04 Dodge 600 Cummins with 2800 miles on it. The stock turbo took a serious dump  but of coarse in my opinion I still thinks it's a very nice truck. :D

Ill probably get in trouble for saying it but ken at ford trucks is ten times worse.

He used to run this one before steve stlaurent. Must be why his skin is so thin. He knows dodge got a good engine when they went with cummins.

Maddog. I assume he was bombed or the dealer would be fixin it instead of you. Its a tiny housing. They are not incredibly reliable with uprates. Tend to overspool. I think thats a little different from the issues with the 6. 0.

Anyways. People should know by now that the turbo is gonna grenade.

I did not say no truck is without problems. But how many Fords have been bought back compared to Dodges?

20:1? Using that as an example, and lets say the Fords outsell the Dodges 2:1, that's still 10 Fords for every Dodge. I have no idea if those are correct numbers, but Fords do outsell Dodges, and Fords are being bought back way more than Dodges are.

Also, did your Dodge friend say "This truck only has 2800 miles on it but it's the best I have ever owned", like you Ford boys do?

And how many Dodges do you know of that have crankcases filled with diesel, or injectors that are stuck open, or romping, or dead pedal, or the numerous other problems?

I know of a dodge with stuck injectors.

I dont think you need to explain anything to maddog. He knows whats up. He was just making a point.

You're right BDT, its a lost cause talking about the 6. 0s problems and the blinders the buyers have on.

Also, my point wasn't the plagued 6. 0s. It was that the moderators over there can't and don't want to see the truth, so instead of a good reply or comment or whatever, they delete it.

The truck is stock, he just wanted me to take a look at it before he sent it off to the dealer.

First time for everything! Now I know of him (a little).

And 1000 HP? No one knows of a Bombed Cummins with over 800 and there is a PSD making 1000?

Yep, that what got me booted over there... . Tried to give an honest assessment of the 6. 0l and the first thing I noticed was my post being deleted, although the the people the poop blue ovals seemed to be able to post anything they wanted... . Then when I questioned the fact that my posted were being deleted it didn't take long and I was booted... . I was and still am suspicious that Ford was on the inside in one form or another on their site over there and couldn't let it stand having anything negative published about the 6. oh-no... Remember Kim Lux or the cackle issue? THat was my fiest clue that something was going really wrong ont he Ferd site... . SO people are making their 40K decisions based on BIASED, FILTERED data... . Scary... .

It's a F-350 with a twin turbo 12 valve Cummins in it.

Off the top of my head, I know:

Jim Fulmer 804 rwhp

MADDOG2 806 rwhp

Jetpilot 886 rwhp (with nitrous)

The EEP, Haisley, and Scheid pulling trucks all probably over 1000 rwhp.

If I remember correctly, Richard's truck weighs 71xx lb, runs a B1/BB twinned 12V, a built E4OD, 36/14. 5 PJ's, and runs 11. 2's without nitrous...

Chris

I don't think the Maddog on this thread is the owner of the Ford. The Maddog on this thread is identified as Maddog2, whereas Richard with the School Bus is Maddog.

Just trying to clarify... ... ... ... ... ... ..... I think... ... .

Jim

Added in Edit... ... . My bad. Looked at Maddog2 profile and has listed the proper last name. So the original Maddog is now Maddog2 :p ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... I think... ...

Chris, I think Mad Puppy's HP in the 1/4 mile is significantly higher. I could be wrong though, and he does have a new motor now that makes the "old" one seem underpowered.
