tempature gauge swing

My 1993 temp. gauge seems to fluctuate more than it used to. Slowly rises to mid range, than goes back down to first notch in 15 or 20 seconds. I used to drive an Oskosh with a Cummins, and remember hearing a fan clutch squeal and the temp. gauge dropping in a few seconds also. Is there a similar thing going on with my 93? Thanks Jack

My truck did the same thing. Replaced thermostat and fixed problem
