Tensioner Check

Got it done. No diagram on my hood cowling for the belt I will print one out and put it in the glove box in case. The water pump was near failure. We checked the tensioner and it looked great. Not driving in an area that much salt is used. Might just go ahead and replace it anyway down the road.

I have a 03 turbo auto 100,000 miles. The factory lift pump was replaced at 80,000 with the same pump type. When starting,Cold hot or anytime the pump runs a long time, shuts off for about three seconds then restarts. It does this three or four times and runs a little less each time. Changed fuel filter,no difference. Factory stock. It started to do this with the old pump. What do you think?

i replaced just the bearing in the fixed pulley. it a common bearing and took about 10 minutes. Cost about ten dollar's.
A new pulley at the parts store was about $80

IIRC, I paid less than $25 from Cummins for that same pulley... the bearing wasn't bad, but I wasn't taking the chance of being stranded.
