Competition Willmington, Ohio

Competition Roll Call for Fall Brawl

Too bad it never got into the 12's.

Just jumped right over them and into the 11's at the Houston Mopar Show and Race today.

11. 77 @ 104 mph

Just wish that intercooler boot had held on past the 1000 ft mark, then it would have actually gone through the lights at full power. Would have run again, but the track said "No Rollbar, No Race"

Congrats to Michael Watkins(MDW) for an awesome run. The best part was the people that we talked to after that run. Most were just in awe that a diesel could run that fast. ;)

Here's the video if you're interested.

Note to Mike... ... . Tighten those cooler hoses. Sounds like a cannon going off when they let go... ...

Jim

OK, Mike, as long as you've been fighting it, obviously you found your problem. Oo. Oo. Just out of curiosity, can you give us a hint what it was?

Congratulations on the great run! :D

Awesome run. And you went from 13's to 11's in one jump? That had to have been one heck of a ride. :D

Hey David, I think the 13 second run was the real bear. Smoked the slicks at the launch got a little sideways, and then blew the headgasket at 1000 ft.

I had to edit the end of the video when I inadvertantly shouted "Oh S***" :D

11.77@104.88

That’s as quick as this truck is going to go as I can't put a cage in it.

I use this truck everyday, it’s my primary driver and a cage would be a pain in the rear to deal with everyday. Unless someone could prove me wrong?

The truck made a good (not great) move off the line 1. 81 60ft but it took some driving for the first few hundred feet, then it moved real good through the middle, but it then blew a boot and it coasted across the line at 104. 88.

The truck on a previous day had run 113mph on much smaller injectors among other things.

Jim Fulmer: Bring on the injectors and come tune on this thing for me :)

TxDieselKid: It blew a boot so the mph is way down, as far as running with Jeff P. and Joe H. , I have to keep mine as a daily driver. Joe and Jeff are doing great things with there programs. I admire their commitment to this sport.

Sled Puller Ya mean the Pinko Texan is alive and well and BOMBing away and racing? I'm coming for ya ... . LOL

RustyJC OK, Mike, as long as you've been fighting it, obviously you found your problem.

Fuel and Thanks :)

Bob Wagner: Thanks.

Great job Mike. Some people have made talked about you, saying that it wasn't possible, but your heart was in the right place the whole time, and this prooves them all wrong I think. You rock Mike!!

Great job once again!!

Andrew

TxDieselKid: Thanks for your support. As far as the NaySayers I don't have time for them. It was a long road that would have been shorter if I had the budget of some guys but with hard work we got it done.

Rd. Runnr: Thanks, hope to see you soon.

Good job... ... ... You can cage the truck with a swing out side bar, or even remove it with 2 pins. It and be fuctional and practical at the same time. Like Jeff says, "anything and be fixed if you through enough money at it".

Come on over to Georgia, we'll fix it.

Dammit boy, don't be giving him ideas. ;)

Cmon Mike, let break out the welder and torches. :D :D

Show me pics

I have to be able to get in and out of this truck several times a day, its my work truck.

I can't look like the dukes of hazard climbing in the window, Curtis (I know what you were thinking).

Cage a regular cab and transfer everything over... ... that's what they keep telling me but I sure like mine the way it is.

Jim

I tend to agree Jim. I like my truck just as it is, even if it is to slow to need a cage anyway. :-laf

I'd need another truck to cage... I'm taking donations now. ;)

Oops I forgot a Very special person without this would never have happened.

Chris Strickland @ Relentless Diesel

Thanks Chris for building a trans. that can get the job done.

Chris went way above and beyond the call in building and rebuilding everytime I killed it (my fault completely).

If you are looking for a trans guy who will take care of business here he is :)

Thanks

Michael
