Yep Gene it was a fluke making a 7000lbs truck run a 11. 24 @ 120mph it's first year out on just diesel fuel. Of coarse the skeptic that you are, you are probably still not convinced that I did it on just diesel fuel. I wonder if a 10. 50 will convince you at Muncie.
And I think just for you Gene I might hook up to the sled.

On 3-20-2004 you posted the following,
Where is your 10. 50??? Can't do it? Hell yeah your scared! Everybody knows your making big power on nitrous. Thats great, but it just so happens that the TS performance truck w/ an inferior 24-valve motor makes very similar hp. I am sorry man I just dont see to many people racing school buses at the local tracks. Racing is power-to-weight. Hello reality!
Turbo Thom said:MD2..... Richard... ... ... I don't think CF means you are "scared" per say. It's just that each time we go racing where you are expected to be there, it don't happen. We just would like to see you run. If you did beat one of the trucks down here that would be good. Then they would have to get better. If one wants to be the best, he can't sit on his fist. Work has to continue. By the way, did you build your engine or did Piers? Darren and Matt built there own. All Jeffs done is tune.
SnowRacer. . Thanks. We need somebody to take up for us since we can't get over there. By the way, we're not east. SOUTH, brother, South.
. . Preston. .
MADDOG2 said:It's funny how the East, South racers have the attitued that the West needs to come out to them to prove something. :{ would love to have you guys come race in Denver where it's a mile up, just ask Fletcher what it's like. He runs 10. 50's up in Washingtion, but could only manage an 11. 03 in Denver.
DavidTD said:Richard,
Didn't you change tire sizes during those passes? Meaning, weren't you running 35's in Denver and smaller, stickier rubber later? What were the MPH of each of those passes? My point here is isn't there "other" factors that could have had impact on your times?
You are correct that you are heavier than Darren, but I'd have to see you and Dennis on the same scales. My guess, you two are very close in weight and power. Yes he's running NOS, but he is also running one turbo. His bottle is his twins and I for one think he has done an awesome job. I would have bet this year, no way it would run a 10 in leather comfort. I would have lost. This with a stock motor with the exception of an O-ring head and bolt ons. Dennis' truck is damn fast and powerful.
And if you say you have made all of your passes without NOS, then I will believe you. That means with the flip of a switch you should have a strong 10 pass. I can't wait to hear about it. If you all can ever hook up at the same track, and I mean all of the trucks around the country that would make for one heck of a race. I know there are many fast trucks around the country and more still to come.
Here is what I like. What is takes to go fast.
1 4x4 Dodge 2500 Reg Cab
1 Sun Coast Race Transmission
1 Garmon built and tuned 12v with stock bottom end, stock cam shaft, stock head with O-ring and studs, Jeff's injectors and 13mm pump, off the shelf turbo's, stock intercooler. Now boys that is a low 11 second truck that will run all day. If more people understand that some planning and tuning not just expensive parts, you can go very fast for less dollars. Then we might have more folks on here going stupid fast.![]()
One thing we can all agree on. If your gonna go that fast, make it safe.
in Houston(Diesel Innovations). The trucks were next to each other at a shop

We have seen both trucks in action and I can assure everyone that those 2 trucks would make for a very interesting race.
BTW Snow White must have liked being next to them as she is definitely following in there path.
MADDOG2 said:David, as usual your posts are very refreshing to read full of good info, and a positive prospective on things. I very much look forward to meeting you and running my truck on your dyno.
I certainly do not want to take away anything from Dennis Perrys truck, no question it is fast and is a very worthy competitor. He had it down in Houston last December, but had problems and could only get in the low 12's The trucks were next to each other at a shop and there was a very noticable difference in size (length, height) and I would have to say that my truck is at least 400lbs heavier. As far as running NOS thats all I heard last year from some people back East. They sent me Emails or PM's stating they thought I was full of crap if I thought my truck could run that fast on Diesel only and I am getting it again this year, it's funny that nobody from the West coast has said anything, but then again they have seen the truck run.I choose to race such a large truck and who knows how much farther I can go before I get left behind

I agree that other things can have an impact on times, but I think the elevation had more than the tire size. Denver, Phoenix, and Las Vegas were all run with 35" tires. As far as MPH, Denver 114mph, Phoenix 118mph, and Las Vegas 118mph.
Fletcher said:First of all, Hello to my scottish bro and Garmon's camp.
Second of all, Richard your on Nos, and YOU CALL THAT STUFF DIESEL FUEL?
Third of all, I tied my horse's rein around the top board of a 4 plank fence and CAN'T GET THE KNOT OUT. I've spent my entire labor day weekend(3 days) wondering if I should cut the rein or remove the board to free my horse. One thing's for sure, If it starts snowing, I ain't going to be carrying hay up to that fence all winter long.
