I knew I saved this stuff for a reason. I still have a few pairs of cammies that I've been "saving for the revolution" (or if I ever decide to go bow hunting)
Its funny. They don't ask for ID at Applebee's. You just tell them that you're a vet, and they give you the vet's menu (they just do this on vet's day) On the other hand, Dick's Drivein which is a local and iconic hamburger chain in Seattle, will ask you for id. (I really dont think they would turn you down if you dont have any, but they ask). The guy (at Dick's) asked me for ID, so I pulled out my dog tags and slapped them down on the counter. (I knew they would ask for ID). But they usually will take just about anything. A picture of you in uniform, dd214, dog tags, old id card (I still have my green id card. They forgot to take it away from me when I got out)
I dont think they are too worried about someone lying about it. But if there is a chance you might have to show some kind of ID, I think a lot of fakers will just not try to take advantage of the situation.
