I just had to post a response here for the great experience I had with placing my order for a new truck with Adam Macomber. I am a doctor by profession and know what professionalism, integrity, and knowledge can do for those who are in need.

Well, I was in need (o. k. want)  of a new truck and risked traveling over 1,100 miles with my wife to purchase/pick up this truck. I would have told anybody in the past that they were crazy for purchasing a new vehicle from someone out of their local area--- because the risks were too high, and not worth any kind of “incentive” or “offer” they could possibly give.

After all or the positive responses that I have been reading on TDR about Adam month after month after month…. I decided to try it. I was very pleased with Adam and his partner Todd, however neither my wife nor I were satisfied with the “upper management” at Dishman Dodge. They appeared “bothered” the whole time we were there, and were more interested in “getting it done and having us out of there in no time. ” Well, a few hours went by and they had no more information out of me and my wife than Adam had given them in the weeks preceding the delivery of the vehicle. In addition, management was short and abrasive to both myself and the other salespeople. I saw it with my own eyes and was shocked! “Upper Management having a Power Trip”

My wife and I were treated like a customer who had just walked off of the sidewalk and liked the truck they saw there and wanted to see if they could afford it.

Excuse me!? I am a TDR customer that demands honesty, truth, and we all know some accessories too. :-laf I knew I had that with Adam and Todd, and trusted their judgment during the whole process. If Adam and Todd had complete control over every aspect of the buying process, I am sure that I would not feel this way.

I will buy again in the future from Adam Macomber wherever he may be. He was the ONLY reason I ever went to Washington. Yes. I bought a truck FROM Adam THROUGH Dishman and definitely not the other way around. If he moved to Florida or Maine, I would follow him there too from the west, ---he was worth it! I will always have my eye looking out for MACOMBER DODGE, but until that day comes, I will just use whatever Dealership is intelligent enough to let Adam continue to serve his clients…. :D

So in conclusion, if you have a sickness or bug for a new truck, then I will only prescribe one thing.

Doc, I'm sure that you are more specific when prescribing medications for a patient, . . than only to write "expensive drugs".

No doubt you name (drug) names. ;)

Your use of the terminology "upper management" is a tad vague, no?

I happen to be a pleased Dishman/Adam customer who has had excellent treatment by and impressions of (some)other personnel at Dishman.

These favorable impressions, re. "attitude" include both Josh "the parts guy" (PARTICULARLY), and the owner of the place (via her comments to me by e-mail, regarding her desire for customer satisfaction and her pride in employees). The other Dishman personnel (unknown to me personally) who participate here at TDR would also seem to have earned our appreciation and respect so far.

Between these two levels of personnel lies that which you describe as "upper management". It is individuals who have displeased you, ... and it would be fairer to other Dishman employees if you would be as inclined to name "offenders" as quickly as those whom you compliment. This would avoid the inevitable smearing of the innocent which results from painting with a broad (and ambiguous) brush.

In addition, it would enable future TDR shoppers to specifically avoid working with those who are undeserving,... and might just get a kick in their butt(s) administered by "Top" management.

People on a power trip may find it cut short.

Bottom line -- In your "hours" with those "bothered", "short and abrasive" management people,... did you happen to catch any names?

A sharper point makes a better prod.

Don't mistake my comments for a blanket defense of Dishman personnel. I have no particular loyalty to Dishman, and would be as quick *(but perhaps more focused) in pointing out to others, including "top management" any treatment such as you describe.

I believe all "Jerks" deserve recognition. But let's take care not to point inclusively at the whole line-up when we say "HE'S the one!"

The fix should be applied directly to the problem.

Certainly if I were heading the organization, and it came to my attention that customers were carrying away such an impression of treatment at my place of business, ... there would be some serious in-house discussion going on, ... "discussion" as in "I talk and you listen, ... OR ELSE!"

Dr. Ron (RLeBroke),

I understand what you are saying because I went through the same type of thing. Adam is a fantastic individual to work with and he truly does go to bat for YOU as a customer even against "upper management" which is perfect terminology in my eyes. Welcome to the TDR well sorta with your first post from 2004 :).

We only dealt with four different individuals during our brief time in Spokane... Adam, Todd and Josh all of which were the finest, great guys and a pleasure to deal with. :) Now the finance manager or the money guy was a totally different story... about as friendly and personable as a rock... I don't remember those kind of peoples names. Now I am known to be a little anal when it comes to details and numbers and we came up with a difference of $$$ when it was time to write out the check and I did mention it but the finance guy on the other side of the table wasn't budging. Todd was there at the time and even called me before we got out of Spokane to let me know that it looked like they overcharged us $$$ and that he would get on it and let me know for sure Monday. As promised Monday Todd called and said they would be sending out a check for $$$ ASAP. Other than our dealing with the finance guy our visit to Spokane was very memorable and I love my truck. :D

Adam, Todd and Josh all did an excellent job and I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone. ;)

The finance guy is always the one who gets you. ALWAYS have your numbers ready before going in to see the finance guy. Some of them are very creative in the ways they increase profit for the dealership.

I had my numbers ready but in the past fleet purchases I didn't deal with the finance guy I dealt directly with the fleet buyer in this case it would have been Adam or Todd. Like I said Todd was present and took care of the issue.

Its there commision, not Company profit. I always love sitting down with the finance manager, but he doesn't like sitting with me WHEN MY WIFE IS PRESENT, man, can she be the "sweetest person in the world"(*****) when it comes to dollars. :-laf

I guess I was lucky.

When I purchased my 03 new at Dishman, through Qwest Fleet services, not only did I receive all factory rebates, but the finance manager, instead of sending me through Numerica C. U. , where Qwest Fleet was set up @ 3. 9% no down, He ran me through Chrysler Financial @ 3. 2% no down.

I was very pleased with the whole ordeal, They did the same for my Father in Law, 2 weeks later.

My two previous purchases through a fleet buyer for a truck, not in Spokane, were handled entirely by the fleet buyer. From the time the order was placed all communications including collection of funds and delivery was handled by that single person.

I've waited & waited for someone else to mention this.

Who the hell is RLeBroke aka Dr Ron?

This is not bashing Adam or Dishman.

But, doesn't it strike anyone strange this is his only post?

Well he has been a member for 3 years, maybe he just like to read and not post.

Good point Newt! ----Here is my second post at your request.

As "Sky" mentioned, I have been a member for 3 1/2 years now.

I am a "reader" and not one to "post" because I have not owned a Cummins or a truck until just 2 months ago. I have just been an enthusiast, like most of us here at TDR, and so therefore have never had anything to post. My questions, and I have had some, were always answered sufficiently by the questions and replies posted on this site.

I hope this helps answer your question.

Does Adam still work at Dishman Dodge? Just wondering, I have a buddy who is looking to buy a new truck and I would like to hook him up with the best deal possible. Scotty

I believe he left just before 08, but he can still get a Dodge for you. I don't remember where he went to but if you do a search you should find the info.

In the first post of this thread, his e-mail address is listed below and it is still a good address. His TDR member name is tdradam.

Got it, I sent him off an email! Thanks for the help. Any idea where he went to. Tomeygun used to do the same thing I guess. He was a middle man to Lou Fusz for truck sales. Either way, hopefully he writes back.

Anybody buying any new trucks? Where are you getting the best deal from. I got mine from Lou Fusz, with the 3% under invoice with all available rebates back in 06, are there any still doing that? Scotty

Adam no longer works for Dishman and is pursueing a career in engineering but the last I heard he was still able to get trucks but hadn't had any requests in sometime. His contact info is in my signature.

Look at the member list under tdradam and it is there as well as the history if you look at his posts. He really helped me out when my C&C was on order and my fleet manager would not get off his *** and look up the info. He never made any money from the deal but took the time out of his busy schedule and got me all the updated info that my fleet manager said was not available.

Les McDaniel @ DSM.

I got mine from Les McDaniel@ Dave Smith Motors 1-800-635-8000 x1302. Very knowledgable guy with excellent product knowledge. My '07 listed at just under $40,000 and I paid $30,700. DSM added a few items at a good price and actually performed the task right. Very good parts and accessory guy there,Johhny B I think. The only person who got a little testy was the finance guy who wanted to sell me the service contract, but he wasn't that bad either. This was a mail order, special order w/transport down here sale and it all went off perfectly. DMV papers were in order etc. Les and DSM pulled it off. :)
