I just finished up putting a NV4500 in my first gen. The AA kit was very comprehensive. No modifying or fabricating just bolt it in. Replaced rear main at the same time and the kit from Quad4x4 made it a piece of cake. Got a new 13" ConOFE from Wickliff and am very happy with it as well. Very smooth engagement light pedal effort and very quiet operation. I highly recommend all of these vendors.

Advance Adapters. They sell a kit to put the NV4500 in the first gen trucks. Comes with a new bellhousing so you don't have to change the flywheel housing.
