Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) The 47 re gives two filter part #'s

I just use a regular old paper filter for a 727 (as advise my my DTT installer. ) I forget the PN. Word of caution; I had 2 NAPA filters like this fail (tore apart at the edge). I now only use filters made by Filtran which is what the dealer sells. This is also the brand used by my installer.

It is probably for different filter tube lengths. Our trucks came with different transmission pan depths. I think the change to the deeper pan took place in '98. Good luck.

On second thought, I don't think they changed the filter depth with the pan. Scratch my previous post.
