Well I started out with just a need for guages. Then the need for a Van AAken. Well the way the tanny threads went over the last year, kinda sucked me in and now I run an upgraded transmission. Then I might as well throw in a set of stage II's while I'm working on it. Then I sold the VA box (thanks, pitts) and upgraded to a comp. Now the Fargin' Virus (turbo virus) has hit. It all started at about 110 mph on Sunday night. I was going to Las Vegas to pick up my wife at the airport. I started to run a temprature 1500* was easy to hit and I started to feel like I was running into a wall. Need help, Possibly fatal,? I am not sure yet but the Hy is not set up for the 36 lbs of boost I'm seeing. HX 40 in the near future... ... . Hope the Cam Virus doesn't hit to fast. Greg

All I know is that if the S-1 works as well in reality as it does on paper, (instant spoolup, and high pressure ratio) there may be a full race version... the S-1R.

then possibly.....

HX-40

Do not buy a HX-40. I know a HX-50 costs more, but they are not only larger (A higher CFM rating), but are much better constructed. The HX-40's just do not last. Their internals are not of the same quality as the HX-35's and HX-50's. They cost more; but are much much better:-{}

Well, give it up!! Where does this thing sit on the lineup relative to the HX40 crowd and Kurt's B1?? If it's beyond the B1, me is veddy interested..... Oo.

I hope you guys understand that for a fixed geometry turbo to flow more on both the exhaust and air side than a B-1 it will be a turd below 2000RPM.

From what I have heard the B-1 is not a good choice if you have below 350 HP since with JUST DD-3's it will not spool to 20 PSI untill 2000 RPM... then it takes off like a rocket... ... sounds very laggy to me.

Here is a suggestion..... when looking for a turbo, take a look at your driving habits..... where do you like your power to be?1500 -2500 rpm, or 2000 to 3000 rpm Do you do a lot of towing? Do you race? Do you just want high peak power? Do you want responsive usable power?

No single turbo will fit into each of these categories.

I think im in the middle of all of those. As you can see I pull a 30 footer. But not all the time. Will be racing somewhat. But would like the aggresivness on the high way. You know the get up and gggoooooooooo!

DF, I'm curious about who's truck that you got your info from... . I know on the trucks I've tested it on The B-1 Bomber spooled up great with only 275's... ... . And On my truck and several others with only my DD'3s and nothing more the B-1 spools up great even at 6,500 ft alt.

And for those that are still not happy I have a housing developed for the Automatic guys that makes the B-1 even faster..... But you don't have to believe me their will be several more B-1's and a couple of KwikSpooled (auto) B-1's out this week. So just wait and see... .....

Um it works just fine with DDIII's and COMP off. I'll check tommorrow how it does with thh BDIV's and COMP off.

I would hardly call it laggy, no worse then my PDR HX35 was.

I don't expect it to be as quick as my HY was..... the KwikSpool HX40 I had however is a whole different story. And now the AT-4 is supposed to be pretty fast as well... . I'll know soon, very soon.

Even if some consider the B1 a lil laggy, the durabilty it provides is by far worth it. On the highway with just injectors it runs around 6 to 10lbs of boost at 72 to 75mph.
