Which version of Firefox? Seems for some reason Linux users according to our logs are more likely to run older versions. Let me know which so I can try to duplicate it. Thanks.

It reports "Mozilla Iceweasel 38.8.0"; it is the latest version of iceweasel (Firefox) released for Debian Jessie. (But I should try after a reboot to be sure it's not a shared lib that wasn't 'released' after the update.)

BTW, chrome/chromium still double-post with a single click, and the 'reply' and 'reply with quote' links still 'hang'. But only on TDR's vB; I haven't seen it happen on any of the few other fora I visit.

$%@#$% #@$% @#% software. As usual, firefox/iceweasel displays oriental pictographs instead of the icons you have beside "My Profile", "Settings" and "Log Out". I must be the only person in the universe with this problem. I've inquired of Debian a time or two but never got a response. Only iceweasel. Not chrome/chromium, not other browsers. Sigh. But this isn't *your* problem.

I hate this new mobile format, i goes to the mobile site even if i set my phone by default to desktop. The site just ignores my wish for the desktop version.
And there is absolutely no way to get out of the mobile site to desktop.
This way i dont read anymore in the forum through out the day.

Stop this behavior.

There is no choice between 1st 2nd 3rd generation forums. Only new posts, today's posts, private messages, calendar, classifieds, *etc. At least I cannot find one. I don't want to sift through 4th Gen posts to get to 2nd Gen posts. Maybe it's operator error. Any help would be appreciated.*

Way better!

You guys reading this on your phones crack me up.... Guess while you're still in the workforce that's what you have to do. Since I'm retired and my eyes show the wear and tear of many years of abuse, I couldn't read the forum on my IPhone 6 SE if my life depended on it. My iPad is the Pro 12" so at least I have a chance to read it there ;). That said, 99% of my viewing is on a 24" screen.

Thanks Admins for the time and effort you put in to keep a bunch of gearheads happy!

Looking at the forum right now on a Google Chromebook. All I can say is WOW. It looks and functions great on this machine. I know it took a few days to get it to this point. But, great job TDR. I am really starting to like this version.

There is no desktop or mobile site. There is one skin which adapts to both.

I beginning to like it on my Moto X. A lot more stable than the old version and every little tweak that Admin4 makes enhances it.

Sent from my Moto X.....

Mike.

There might be no visible progress for the next day or so, then several bug fixes. I'm working on a large number of fixes now which didn't show up in our initial testing (there are soooooo many devices out there!), but it's being done on a test server. Once I'm sure they are all working correctly I'll move it to the live server. Should see so big speed improvements then too.

While the format is better on my PC I am still not liking the mobile portion. I know Admin said there isn't a mobile site but I get a mobile menu so something is "mobile".

The vertical view is okay on my iPhone 6S but the horizontal view is HUGE and annoying.

The view on my iPad mini2 is great! But it also doesn't have any of the mobile site stuff going on... basically the mobile adaptation still needs fixed or removed, or at least be able to turn it off.

Ok, on my andriod tablet it looks a lot like the desk top. Smart phone still sucks. Other sites provide a button for desk top view. Snoking

Ok- I've accepted the new format. I understand there are quirks that still need to be worked out, and I appreciate the admin's hard work. However, I think there's more going on here. I really hope there's no sell out.
Ive been on board since the beginning, and the TDR forum has been no nonsense and hard core on topic. since the change, I've been experiencing a tremendous drop off in performance (page load) and now I'm seeing generic banner ads. This has to stop- or the leaders (Robin?) has to come clean about the mission of the forum if it's changed. Please don't tell us it's becoming a click- bait site!

Unequivocally 100% nothing more going on other than a great conspiracy theory you've presented. :) No mission change, no "sell out."

Every issue you've mentioned, except the theory, has been addressed in this thread. I'll present them again, here, because I know it's a hassle too read 6 pages (I wouldn't want to!). :)

Post #77:

"We don't (yet) have ad creatives from direct TDR sponsors which fit on small mobile screens, that is on the table to be done now that we have a theme which can accommodate them."

TDR has been using Google ads for over a decade, they've been in various screen positions over the years and on the side bar for the past few. Right now they are appearing on the top and bottom on smaller screens for the reason noted above. This will be taken care of with time.

There is nothing more going on other than a transition to a theme we can better manage going forward. :)

It's only changing the size of the menu (smaller) and putting the word mobile up, but it's the same theme. It adapts that menu size automatically.
