There is a HUGE difference using my PC. The Moto X is loading faster as well.....

Optimizations made:
1. Added a plug-in for VBulletin which caches certain database fetches into RAM.
2. Changed a few database settings. If anyone had a momentary page error, it was during the 30 second window when I restarted the database for the changes to take effect.
3. Added a PHP accelerator to the PHP software the site uses (VBulletin is written using PHP).

It should get faster the longer it runs, as the caches start filling up and getting higher hit rates. It will be most noticeable on desktops verses mobile, since mobile connections usually have the additional bottleneck of slower connection speeds.

Next I have to correct home page link issues on iPads/iPhones.

Also I made change to the ads, they should overall get better and be more targeted to TDR users. After all the various bugs are squashed and suggestions for better usability addressed, I'll talk to Robin about reaching out to TDR's advertisers to get smaller versions of their ads for mobile so these filler ads don't bother you. I know they can be annoying, but the ad system throws them in when a "direct" advertiser's ad isn't available --- so I'll take care of that.

Why do we have ads on a paid site?

IMHO there shouldn't be any ads for a pay site.

It's only changing the size of the menu (smaller) and putting the word mobile up, but it's the same theme. It adapts that menu size automatically.

The menu is HUGE on my iPhone. I tried to shrink it and it just opens links... am I missing something?

IMHO there shouldn't be any ads for a pay site.

IIRC, there's always been a banner pertaining to our interest, and from a familiar TDR supplier. The home page may have had a sidebar, and the way it was is acceptable. The way I DONT want it to go is like some media outlets and in particular, my local paper's site. It is totally polluted with zinc and other ad type spots. It's so bad with moving sides and pop ups, and it takes forever to load. I refuse to go there unless I have to check for an obituary and afterwards I feel I must run antivirus. Not pleasant browsing at all. Refer to my recent post here and the screenshot showing an ad unrelated to our interest.

That is a bug I am working on. The menu is supposed to be collapsed, only one bar high, but on some devices it seems to be defaulting to it's opened up state.
