Mine just failed here in Canada at 36000km. Only benefit is that I was about to have another expensive oil change. Avoided that for a while.

Can you get some pictures and post here? Also, see if the tech performing the repair is willing to show you anything and explain his theory of why it failed please.

Well I'm up to 82,xxx miles now with no problems. Any have any real data on the rate of failure with the VM Motori engines?

Probably not, just a lot of opinions more than anything.

I'm hearing 3000+ failures, but no actual numbers or actual sales numbers. An engine failure is a big thing, especially these days when it could cost you $10k or more to replace it. Hope mine hangs in there.

Average weekly demand gives us something. Latest report I've seen is 16 per week down from 25 per week prior report.

I still can’t believe how cheap the VM 3.0 is! I’m still hunting for one that is out of warranty, has had warranty cancelled and owner is looking to sell......with a blown engine....probably too soon but I’ll keep looking. I’d love to have one and do a full delete and reprogram with Green Diesel. Love my CRD liberty and that’s how I got it. :-laf
