Something I will always remember.
Having been drafted in 70', I lucked out and ended up in Germany. That did not stop the snarling and spitting and other assorted nicities I was subject to while going through NYC in my class A's on my way home once on leave. Anyway, when I was discharged, I flew back to McGuire to process out at Ft Dix. It was the weekend so I was free until Monday. Still in my class A's, I took the bus to Scranton, PA to pick up my car I had left with my sister to use while I was away. While waiting outside at the bus station for my sis to come, couple of older gents come up to me. They shook my hand and thanked me for serving the country and talked of "their" war.
Something to think about when you see a man/woman in uniform and maybe alone.
