How Have You Improved or Fixed Your Truck From Being A TDR Member?

Careful Scott....

" Must be San Francisco. Does that surprise anyone?"

Scott, you have been spending so much time bonding with your two new liberal buddies that you are are begining to sound like one. A statement like that which is based on your prejudices and not based on any facts. :D The trolley cars run on a fairly narrow set of rails, those look too wide.

Sam

OK. You might be right. But bonding with liberal buddies?? I feel pride when the disabled person in the picture stood up. My statement was to imply that those in San Fran. are not the typical patriots as the majority of American. Very liberal, freaky town.

Judging by the age of those around him. The old guy is probably the only one in that vicinity that fought for it, and understands the respect due.

No matter where the picture was taken, there are dumba__es everywhere. I see people at Astros games that don't take their hats off for the National Anthem.

A true story.

My late father served 2 terms in the 101st Airborn back in the early 60's.

When I was 14 we had just stopped to get gas downtown.

He would preach to me a lot.

Dad said "I once cried because I had no shoes until I say a man that had no feet. "

Just as he said "no feet" we drove past a man sitting on a skate board with no legs.

That memory will always be with me.

Where ever this was taken, it's a sad site. I've never served in the military, but like Skydiver my Dad served. Two tours in Vietnam as a Marine. He has 3 purple hearts, is partially deaf due to guns and shrapnel from a mortar blast permanently lodged in his head. He fights head aches on an almost daily basis. He has always instilled patriotism in my brother and I. I am proud to be American and very glad to be here and I ALWAYS stand when ol' glory goes by in a parade, no matter how many times it does. The fools sitting down and not recognizing the respect due to the flag are at the root of what drags this country down. I'll get off my box now, this kind of stuff just gets my BP rising.

tcpdrafting,

Any man who serves two tours in Vietnam and receives 3 purple hearts is a man that I can look up to and respect. I have been serving for 24 years in the military, and our strength and ability is a direct result of men like your dad, skydivers and all others who served honourably before us. Tell him I said "Thank You!"

skydiver,

My condolences on the lose of your father and hero.

Warren

Something I will always remember.

Having been drafted in 70', I lucked out and ended up in Germany. That did not stop the snarling and spitting and other assorted nicities I was subject to while going through NYC in my class A's on my way home once on leave. Anyway, when I was discharged, I flew back to McGuire to process out at Ft Dix. It was the weekend so I was free until Monday. Still in my class A's, I took the bus to Scranton, PA to pick up my car I had left with my sister to use while I was away. While waiting outside at the bus station for my sis to come, couple of older gents come up to me. They shook my hand and thanked me for serving the country and talked of "their" war.

Something to think about when you see a man/woman in uniform and maybe alone.

my dad......

served on the USS Spadefish (SS411) in the Sea of Japan in 1945. he doesn't talk about it much, but then again what is there to say about explosive sledgehammers crashing against the side of the sardine can that you call home 300 ft. down.

for 9 years i belonged to an organized state militia unit (1st Co.

Governor's Foot Guard) in the state of Connecticut. we had our favorite Memorial Day parade that we would go to..... because the PATRIOTIC crowd packed the streets. then a couple of days later we'd go to a parade where we'd march for 1/4 miles at a clip with about 5 people on the route.

America needs to get more patriotic... plain and simple.

That picture is just plain SAD!
