Got Gas? Too Funny!

Happy 4th 'o July

with some of the recent threads here about idiots with SUV, idiot drivers, hmmmm idiots in general, I started thinking. Are there any great thinkers of recent times? Along the lines of Pluto, Einstein and Edison. More recently people of john nash (the movie a beautiful mind), doc or whitmore caliber.

So who do you nominate and why?

Pluto the dog of Disney fame listed with Einstein????:-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf

Nixter

P. S. I understand you meant Plato but the typo made me giggle.

Surely you did not mean to use these two Doc:-{} Whitmore in a caliber. Do you know what you said? And to use there names in a statement looking for intelligent life:eek:

Here just maybe the wrong place took for intelligent life!!;) :p

Seriously tho, Steven Hawkins(A brief history of time) as to be on the list for contemporary great minds. All the challenges he has and still communicates all the stuff, pretty impressive.

Dam just re-read my post..... after a 36 hour shift I'm surprised my grammar was that good.

Well you have the basic idea, so post more ideas here.

Did any of you guys ever meet Pluto, Einstein or Edison? Those guys had the same mindset that Whitmore and I have, especially that Pluto guy. Don't knock someone until you know all of the characters - LOL

Doc

There you go Doc point that finger at somebody else and try to blame them for the way you are:D I just wonder, boy I am taking a big step what Whitmores excuse is. Personally I think its all that gas he has sucked:eek: in at that treatment(sewer ??)plant he works at. But what do I know(not much according to the wife)what he does wherever he is at. Doc what has Victor done to you for you to blame him for the way you are:confused:

These guys were human too...

Einstein's mother introduced him to the violin at the age of six in an attempt to counteract his academic failures. "Because he spoke haltingly for the first nine years of his life and would only answer after a prolonged period of reflection, Einstein's parents thought he was mentally retarded. His grades in school were so poor that a teacher asked him to quit, saying, 'Einstein, you will never amount to anything. '"

In 1895 Einstein failed an examination that would have allowed him to study for a diploma as an electrical engineer at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule in Zurich.

Isaac Newton did poorly in grade school.

Beethoven's music teacher once said of him "as a composer he is hopeless. "

When Thomas Edison was a boy his teacher told him he was too stupid to learn anything.

F. W. Woolworth got a job in a dry good store when he was 21, but his employer would not let him wait on customers because he "didn't have enough sense. "

Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team.

Winston Churchill failed the 6th grade.

Steven Spielberg dropped out of high school in his sophomore year. He was persuaded to come back and placed in a learning disabled class. He lasted a month and dropped out of school forever.

A newspaper editor fired Walt Disney because he had no good ideas.

In the early 1920s Walt began a cartoon company in Kansas City, Missouri, with fellow artist Ub Iwerks, but the company soon went bankrupt.

Looks like there is hope for some of us :)
