The pic says it all

... ..... When your wife throws in the towel and allows you to install performance parts cuz she knows it be much cheeper than sending us to a professional shrink.

When your son buys an 05, asks you how to "juice it up so I can tow" and you have to start doing research to figure out which "box" to buy. :-laf

When the dogs know you are home and you are still 1/2 a mile away!

When you dream about what it must be like to have a 4 spd trans!

When family or friends refuse to take your vehicle because they might be seen in that "thing"!

When you have people pull up along side you and tell your truck is burning oil and you should get that checked!

When you have people pull up along side you and tell you that your truck is on fire!

when $350. 00 for a washing machine is out of the question but $350. 00 for a set of pod's is a great buy.

when the wife comes out to the shop at 1:00 am and tells you to knock it off so she can sleep. (mine also reminds me that i have to be to work at 7:00 too) :D

How bout when you are talking to another first gen owner with no increases in power and telling him about the improvements your's has. You take them for a ride and when you hear "HOLY *hit, these things aren't supposed to run like this!", you just smile cause thats what you hear everytime you take someone out for a little "show ride". :D :)

When before a long drive you purposely put several hundred pounds of stuff in the bed so it rides nicer

When replacing any part not made by cummins involves a multi-state scavenger hunt or adapting pieces from other trucks to fit.

Indeed!!!!!!

I disagree with number 18, but I have OCD :p . And I need to go for a ride in a 1st gen that's been tweaked, as in number 47! Actually, maybe I better not. :p

Good stuff!

When you clean your ground wire up, and suddenly that "bad" transmission shifts into overdrive, the speedometer, and all the gauges start working again.

The duct tape and blow foam plugging the hole in the roof seem cool.

You paint your cab clearance lights and call them decorations, becasue it is easier and cheaper than repairing them. Besides, there isn't much roof left, best not disturb it.

You blow a rear brake line, and realize that it isn't stopping any worse.

Consider changing entire rear from FLA parts truck, looks easier than tackeling the rusty brake system on the one you are driving.

Do you really need ALL of the front rotor?

Your spare parts truck ONLY has 250,000 miles on it.

You didn't bother balancing the new used tires you got, and don't notice any shimmy.

Duct taping that used boost gauge to the dash doesn't drive you nuts, in fact, it somehow looks "right"

Don't bother turning it up, because it is unsafe at any speed, as it is.

Ripping out the soaked headliner because its getting your hat wet.

Throwing a ratchet strap the whole away aroundd the bed to the frame,

securing cargo, and not cringing when the sides of the bed cave in. :D

And, after all that, smiling when it fires so quick, and thinking, THANK GOD IT IS NOT A 24 VALVE.

And THAT boys and girls, pretty much says it all! :-laf :-laf
