A couple of months ago I posted about my father's '99 (40k miles) knocking badly and running quite rough stranding him in Utah... a while back he swallowed his pride and took the truck to the dodge dealership... . a broken piston was the culprit as the rather large chunks of aluminum in the oil filter showed.
The service rep @ the dealership told him to relax; he'd have a new block and bottom end assy. put in @ no charge... . well, the old man has been driving ever since (a couple weeks) he's very happy about the service he received except for the techs forgetting to hook the window wash back up... there are still some honest dealerships out there.
