Here I am

The TFL crew was surprised how well the RAM 2500 6.7 pulled the Guanlet on I-70..

I went up the Eisenhower grade on I-70 a few years back towing my 17K toy hauler. My then 2005 3500 5.9 with 6 speed and 4:10's was at 3 MPG and 25-30MPH and 3rd gear by the top on the hill. 11000 ft elevation was a pull for that old stock Dodge.

Nice, but German Autobahn is often steeper then 8% in the Kasseler Mountains.

Well place to check how powerful your (what ever) Car/Truck is, like my ol Grand 5.9LX, runs there up with still 90MpH, 130MpH in the flat - legally.

That's the average grade over 8 miles, and the altitude peaks at over 11,000 feet which is what makes the grade significant. There are lots of grades all over the country steeper than 7-8% but not at that elevation for that long of a stretch.

That's True, 8Mi is as long as the Grade to the Gotthard Pass. Germanys grades are far shorter ½Mi or so at best.
May I check the Eisenhower Pass in Fall. Could be interesting to drive it in real life.

I dont see why it wouldn't be open in the fall. I'm not familiar with that particular road but having grown up in Wyoming I can tell you major highways can be closed in a moments notice due to weather. Even sections of Interstate 80.
Speaking of I-80, there is a section of highway coming ouof Laramie (going by the Lincoln Memorial) that is around 6-7%, but I dont think its quite 8 miles long. It seems to me its only maybe 5 miles long, and between 7500-8000 ft elevation. It is still enough to give the heavy rigs a fit though, there is a slow lane for them to chug up the hill @ about 15-20 mph. I'll be running that stretch later this summer on my way to visit family before heading to Yellowstone.

Roman trashed the 2013 3500 when they did the Ike gauntlet. They were pulling more weight with the 3500. Buthas are these trucks that didifferent than a few years ago?

We pull Ike at least twice a year w/26k gross. I am anxious to pull with this new truck.

The previous 5.9s pulled it @ 37mph in 4th gear and some 3rd. (3.73s) Most don't realize how brutal Ike can be!

Then drop a little snow on the situation.........

Fuuny you mentioned how brutal Ike is. I was climbing I-70 and had no idea Ike tunnel was ahead. I hit Vail and thought "holy poop" this is some elevation.....LOL Then it kept climbing until we hit the tunnel..

That was with my old 5.9 that ran better the harder I pushed her..:)

I find many of their videos interesting, regardless of the possible mispronunciation of Cummins and the use of the term "gas mileage" in this video. I don't find the videos all that useful but I like watching them anyway.

And this is what it looked like today on I-80 between Laramie and Cheyenne. Elevation at the summit is about 8600 feet:
