I have been dogging everybody about the carb rule in California and this is what I have found out. the California auto sellers have a rule in place (I don't know who got paid off in this case) and they use this rule to increase the money of the auto to almost and above the $2,000. 00 mark. All the engines are the same that are being produced for the dodge ram by cummins and they all have the same carb but in california it comes down to the law that the lobiests had passed for the california dealers this law states that no vehicle that is not carb for california cannot come into california without the 7500 mile limit on the vehicle. Only California dealers and border state dealers have the right to order the vehicle with the carb stamp for california. On the driver side of the cummins engine around the top of the head you will find a data plate with the info of the engine. Towards the back of this plate you will find a set of boxes the one that says CARB should have the two boxes stamped under it. One is the designator for the cat,NOX and should have a number such as 2. 4 or 3. 0. The other box is the PM and should have a number such as 0. 10. If these numbers fall under the FED or FEL this vehicle is not CAL CARB legal and needs 7500 miles before it can be regestered in california. Also the vehicles reg id number should show a YCF when run. All this due to a piece of paper what a scam on the people in california.
