Getting called out on the internet.

Great dexterity test.........

I sure hope some fool isn't going to

pay that - if it were really worth that much - wouldn't it be offered at someplace other than EBAY????

I was under the assumption that a 66 Hemi Dodge Vehicle Identification Number starts with WO23******, not WL41****** I am suspisious... .....

The guy has 0 feedback. I'd be a little worried to say the least.

I had the chance to buy a 1969 440 4 speed GTX convertible for $800. 00.

I kick myself for not having the $$$ at the time. :(

Sure it's rare but four door (where is the puking smiley?)

I am always looking for something that will give me the most thrill for the $$$... . not my thing I guess. For 200K+ you think he could post more pictures.

Geez

For that kind of $$$ you could buy some expertly restored and

much better looking Mopar "MUSCLE" from Barrett Jackson, that would look Showroom Fresh !

I agree - you could get a lot of cars much more desireable for less money. But it's the history of it that's fascinating. I always like to imagine all of the history behind a car. Who ordered it? What was their thinking at that time? Why did they sell it? What happened in all of those years in between the order and now? I guess that's why I like the Cars in Barns site. I like to just look deep inside of those pictures of the old, decrepite muscle cars and wonder how they ended up that way - what's the story behind them. Why didn't the owners ever go back to them and bring them back to life? I guess it's the mystery of it all that makes it fun for me to study those cars - and the possibility that some of them may be saved if the right circumstances fall into place. I think I enjoy that even more than seeing the pristine concourse restored cars.

Having said all of that, if I had a quarter mil, I'd be looking for a 2 door myself. But this one is really neat to see. Imagine what it would go for with the numbers matching engine. It doesn't say if it even has an engine in it right now. The description seems to indicate that it has an empty engine bay.

Thanks, Bill - good one.

With Chrysler, You never know..........

what you may find. A Hemi owner friend(68 Super Bee) told me that Plymouth once built a Belvidere/Satellite station wagon for "The King. " Petty blue & all the whistles & bells. My 70 `cuda 340 had a factory installed rear sway bar. Only one I ever saw on an E body. Go figure. DK.

The two Mopar fastest production cars are 1968 Plymonth S/S Barracuda 426 Hemi and the 1968 Dodge S/S Hemi Dart.

I like that page Black Pearl. Good find.

4xquadrod,

Post some pictures of your car if you have time. I would like to see it.

When I was a kind in the 60's, there was a guy who went to our church that had a Chrysler 300 with a Hemi. I sure about the 300 part, and I'm pretty sure it was a Hemi. I think he said the engine would rev to about 9k.

.

I don't have pics on this new computer but I'll check my shop computer. My 64 is in the March 05 issue of Mopar Collectors Guide on page 28.

This is what the seller said:

A WO23 vin would represent a 1967 Super Stock Dodge. Here is a link to a car that was on display at the Petersen Museum. http://www.petersen.org/default.cfm?DocID=1014&cat=Muscle Cars: Power to the People&ExhibitID=361 It looks like I may have to relist my car with more pictures and more information. I suppose when we get into a price range over a quarter million dollars, most people want to see more of the product they are about to buy. You might see my car again in about 2-3 weeks. Or I may just decide to keep it and have it restored myself.

When I was 16 a guy that worked for my Dad gave me an intake manifold that had 3 Hollys, all the linkage, the air cleaner with all the decals and original filter for a 1970 440 GTX. He used to Drag race down on Front Street in Phila when he was young. He had pulled it off when it was brand new to install Dual quads. Being dumb and not knowing better, the first guy that saw it offered me $35. 00 for it so I sold it
