And am I glad :p I am going to make the first repairs on my 97 2500 4x4 with 253,362 miles this weekend. I have a left lower ball joint, and a right front axle Ujoint that are bad. So I am going to go ahead and replace all ball joints and both axle joints. I think I would have gone through two or three trucks from the good ole days when they made real trucks. :D Just thought I would share my good fortune with everyone.

PS. It is an automatic trans. for those who think the auto is junk.

"Real Trucks" LOL

:p Yourself!

I hope you have all the tools. Do a search for a post I made to another thread recently to be sure. Have fun!

Yea, I agree; when I had my first couple cars in the 1950's, 10,000 miles out of set of tires was real good, and you just assumed you would be fixing flats regularly----yes, I said fixing flats, remove the wheel, remove the tire, patch the tube, put it back together and inflate it with a hand pumpo---it could put a dent in the atmosphere of a date

and you wouldn't expect over a 100k on an engine before overhaul. Ah, for the good old days!!!!!

My dad has a 1980 Crew Cab Dually Dodge. Its built a little stouter than these are now.

Dana 70 behind a 360(gas lol) automatic

The old Loadflight transmission(21 years and still strokin GOOD)

16. 5" wheels

REAR DOORS

Doesn't have any sissy springs on it(hauled 3400lbs of scrap and still sitting a little high in the rear)

1 1/4" lug nuts with a torque spec of to much to break loose on the side of the road lol

But it gets 6mpg pulling his trailer and you can hardly hear yourself think over the headers and exhaust the truck has on it so it will pull that trailer. Which is does a fine job of doing after a camshaft swap.

All the doors still open and shut like it was new... but its only got 66K on it now lol might have something to do with it, only on its second set of tires also
