Pin Weight on 2500

I have owned three different 5th wheels all have had slight issues with them. In my humble opinion most buyers except that the rolling home on wheels should be very similar to their sticks and brick home. That is not the case these RV's are pulled at 65+MPH by most owners and are shaken to death by the interstate highways and state roads.

The other thing most users look at is the BLING and ignore the structures on cheaply built trailers, this is what will fail. I also find that most buyers but not all, do not know the first thing about maintenance and which end of a screw driver to use. Just look at all of the complaints about maintaining a diesel truck by some users, just follow the forums.
Just my opinion.

Been doing the RV thing for over 30 years, I think we have had 6 or 7 of them, from Cab over campers to trailers to a Class A and now a 5er. We spend our recreation time in the deserts and mountains OHV exploring.
My experience has led me to conclude that their are two distinct types of RVs, cheap junk and more expensive junk, and then a small but growing class of very expensive not junk units. I feel bad for those young families getting into the RV thing who have no one to lean on with a history dealing with these things, and the dealers that sell them...who are a whole 'nother story.
Going in to a RV purchase and expecting to purchase a vehicle that will serve like a car does, and a dealership to respond like a car dealership...well...a rude awakening is down the road. Seen it many times. The forums are full of nightmares people live with, lemon law buy backs, etc.
I try to do all the maintenance I physically can, and was fortunate enough to have the son of a very close friend go in to the RV service business...he handles the rest.
I enjoyed the Class A, it was a 32 ft and we towed 22 ft. Enclosed toyhauler behind it. 454 Chevy with a Banks Kit. It towed well but never saw the upward side of 7 MPG. It was great when the kids were little and needed to pee all the time.
I prefer my current Rig for towing now, but if wife ever retires and we decided to upgrade it would be to a pusher and another toybox. The toybox would be a rolling garage with a small car if we are touring and the OHV when out boondocking.
I don't see that happening though. I love my truck too much....
In all our years I dont think we have spent more than 10 nights in an RV park.
