Were is Industry going

I sure would like to see LOTS more of this!

Yeah, it actually happened on private duck hunting property... I'm sure that's going to be great for business. :( Luckily, not much wildlife has been killed, as most of the spill was contained due to the irrigation canals around where it broke. Still, it's sad because you know some environmentalists are going to be freakin out and make them spend $$$ checking the rest of the pipeline for potential weakness, which in turn gets passed on to us Kalifornia drivers at the pump. :(

I wasn't there, and it didn't say in the report, but I'd assume it was just a failure and not sabatoge since the break was underground and they would have said something if the ground looked intentionally disturbed when they found the leak, especially since it took days to find the leak. Besides, I don't think environmentalists would break a pipeline and polute to prove a point... they'd be more likely to picket the oil companies' offices or the more millitant ones might burn them down.

that same pipeline ruptured about 10 years ago east of Dixon and also about three or four years back just above Donner Lake.

I suspect poor maintenance on the pipeline.

It is a 14 inch pipe that according to news reports was carrying "red- dyed" diesel.

So far. it hasn't kicked the prices up any more, still hanging at the bargain price of $2. 15 as of this morning

All though probably not in this case, there have been a few nut jobs that have burnt down, or other-wise destroyed property to attempt to prove a point.
