For everyone that is experiencing a miss when driving the new 04. 5 diesel, take a look at your cell phone or your radio equipment.
I have had a problem that absolutely was driving everyone nuts, after repeated trips to dealerland with nothing ever found, I attached a code reader to the truck while driving. Everytime the cell phone or the sideband radio was tripped to broadcast, the computer started throwing errors. Soon the engine was missing, and would continue to do so until I shut down and restarted.
I have not traced which wiring harness or processor is catching the RF, but I am hot on the trail looking and wrapping everything with copper mesh and grounding it to the common ground. In the mean time I took my linear amp off the sideband and got back down to legal power, and went to an external cellular antenna. No more problems.
I also noticed this problem on 03's and 04's with the HO package. When over-the-road truckers with linear amps would key up next to me, the engine would stumble. Sometimes, they would actually put the engine in to creep mode and I would have to pull over and restart.
