I'm sure you've heard this before, but I have an intermittent throttle problem. It started with a check engine light, still ran good, set code for apps low volt. I checked connections, disconnected Banks box, cleared code, everything ok for a week. Apps code came back, now I feel brief hesitation at times. Cleaned all grounds et'c, it went away for another week. Now its back. I will loose throttle completely, shut it off, restart, continue on with no more problem. Now it has apps low volt and idle validation switch dont agree codes. Is this a common problem? Is the apps going bad? Should I be looking at some other cause? I'd hate to buy a new apps( I heard they're pricey) and find out it doesn't fix my problem. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

You need a new apps for sure. Shop around for best price, I waited till the last minute before a 1000 mile trip, and got zapped almost $500 from the local dealer.

98. 5, Banks powerpack, ATS stage 4, triplelock, commander,if this means anything. Will check that sight, thanks.

I just noticed it shows 97-99 $153. 00 I think I would call them first. Some weird things can happen ordering sensors etc. on the internet.

I need one too. I gave those folks a call and, turns out that one is for a 12-VALVE

Kind of misleading being the information was put in for a 99 Dodge. Did they tell you anything for a 24 Valve?. I haven't seen or heard of a 99 12 valve.

Dave

On thier site they show one for each, 12 and 24 V. The 24 is $153. 00. When I called to order they said the 24V is over $400. Very Missleading!

I ruled out my wires, good 5 volts, good ground et'c. Called that sites nomber, found out that sensor shown was not correct. I got the correct one from them( Tenefly Chrysler-Jeep) for 280 bucks plus shipping. Was 480 bucks from local dealer. I have a go pedal again! While troubleshooting this problem, I found some inaccuracies with my factory service manual as far as wiring diagrams are concerned, just thought I'd warn anybody. Thanx DavidC

Gonna put mine in tomorrow, any tricks or shortcuts I need to know about?

I have had the unit off to test the voltage but did not disconnect the cables.

How do they come off??

TIA

Dave

The trans and cruise cables you pull forward to unsnap. Foot cable is a ball and socket, I put two screwdrivers, one on each side of ball, and pop it off. Where the cables come through the bracket, they have lock tabs, push tabs in to release.

Installed the new APPS today, piece of cake. Took all of about 20 minutes and that included BSing time.

Took it for a spin on the Performance Diesel test track and no CEL or codes :)

I sure hope this cures my problem. Thanks for all the advice fellas!
