Throttle linkage problem... my throttle started acting up in my 96' CTD. the pedal seemed more responsive, but kind of hung up a little, like the pedal is sticking. I opened the hood to investigate, didn't notice anything at first, then just as I was about to close the hood, I found a spring, about 3" in length laying above the firewall, near the windshield wiper arm. I looked down to see where this spring connects, it looks like it came from the end of the throttle linkage near the firewall, but can't figure out where it attaches. Can someone help with this? (ps not the thicker spring towards the middle of block) Thanks in advance!

That sounds like the double wound spring to the lever on the back of the pump. There should be two wires in the hook on each end. Sometimes one or both of them will rust off. You should be able to find a piece of metal with a hole in it just behind the power steering pump to attach the forward end of the spring.
