No , the one I looked at online , it has 765 cold cranking amps, not the 790, and the only one offered at Costco on line. It’s probably a step down from the one you referenced. I am assuming the one I looked at is an AGM , but didn’t say , it said Wet/ Dry ??

See above for the picture of the one.looked up at the dealership for my vin.

I'm going to bite the bullet and go for a set of Odyssey Batts in a few weeks My truck has been cranking slow on cold mornings lately. My friend bought his batts for his boat from this company Ultra Power . web site is www.northeastbattery.com while not cheap you get what you pay for.

I replaced my batteries with NAPA house brand batteries in Nov 2012, these are good for 75 months of pro rated life. They are still going strong and I have had no starting issues at all with them. My cost in 2012 was $297 including tax for two batteries.

Over the years, I have always replaced any old batteries with AGM type. They cost more, but you don't get any corrosion, and I think they last longer. I have always used Odyssey with good results.

One thing to note about Costco interstate batteries. They are warranted through Costco not interstate. So other Interstate dealers don’t do warranty on Costco batteries. May be a issue on the road.

Johnson Controls makes autozone, advance auto , motor craft, die hard & Interstate probably many more . They also make their batteries in many different countries.
I’ve had excellent luck with their batteries in the past
But that’s not a guarantee of the future

Could be an issue, but a lot of Costco's around the country. Was looking at our replacement batteries the other day at Costco, price ,warranty availability, just to much to overlook IMO. It will be the place I purchase mine when the time comes .

I had a problem with my AC compressor clutch shorting out and a burning smell emitting, even though AC was off. By the time I got it fixed ( Truck was parked due to the shorted clutch) the batteries were completely dead and wouldn't take a charge. I took the 1 year old batteries back to Costco and they were replaced, and no questions asked nor did they test the batteries. I'll be buying mine from Costco, as long as they maintain quality batteries and stand behind them.

Ok, what kind of Batteries is everyone using, 5 years and the old ones are done....

I only wish I could get 5 years out of a set of batteries. The Sam's Duracell's, either the regular flooded lead acid or the AGM's ( about $170 each) are a very good choice and have a 3 year free replacement warranty. Probably the best price you'll find for a quality battery. If you are willing to pay big bucks, look at the Northstar (Battery Plus) ($400 each). My opinion.

Mine are approaching 5 years, will see how they do this winter, they seem okay. Not too concerned.

What surprises me is the two Kirkland batteries I have in my fifth wheel . They are right at 9 years old, and still going strong. They are plugged in 24/7, and I watch the water level, but still that seems like a long time for an RV battery to last .

Those Odessey’s are pricey little things aren’t they? Only available on line? Would cost a small fortune to send them back to the vendor on warranty claim.

Pricey they are, though they are available at BatteriesPlus at 10% off if there is a retail store near you.

That being said, the Sears Diehard Platinum P2 was a rebadged version of the Odyssey battery that would go on sale at Sears for as little as $179.
Unfortunately with all their troubles, etc, Sears stopped carrying the P2 a couple years ago.

Yeah, I wouldn’t buy anything from Sears that came with a warranty. Highly doubt they’ll be around much longer.
True, though the Platinum P2 (i.e. the rebadged Oddssey Group 65) was an AWESOME battery for the price!!!

Since Sears stopped selling the rebadged Oddyssey, I pretty much stick with batteries manufactured by EastPenn, either their own Deka brand or even other aftermarket resellers, like CAT or DuraCell or Oreillys, each of which still sell SOME battery configurations that are in fact made by EastPenn. In fact, unless it has changed, EastPenn is still oem supplier for CAT equipment, so ANY of the batteries that CAT sells are made by EastPenn/Deka.

My battery purchasing philosophy is not to simply buy a battery for the warranty, but rather to buy a battery that is NOT going to leave me stranded anywhere, and when maintained correctly will OUTLIVE its warranty!!

Just my .02

So twice this winter when is was a bit cooler out (cooler, as it Arizona) when starting to truck, at the end of the grid heater cycle the starter kick in and then stops immediately. The truck was built in December 2014. I am thinking it is time for batteries.

I turned on the head lights and the voltage reads 12.78Vs. Wife just did a grocery getting run. So it was started and stopped several times with few miles driven.

Guess it is time to have them load tested.

After much head scratching, looks like I’m going with Costco’s Interstate.

I've been using Interstate exclusively since my buddy Eric became an Interstate dealer. I don't think you are going to be disappointed.

How much difference in cost is it to buy from Costco as compared from an independent Interstate dealer?
