jgillott - ill second your opinion. my buddy has gotten me interstates for 20 years in many vehicles. they are really good. my 02 cummins has had 2 for 8 years, and still going strong. when the current 18 2500 batteries die ( which they will much sooner than an interstate ) ill go with interstate, again. as a random thought - my gone 16 2500 gasser the battery only lasted 1 year, or 20k. junk. hope the current truck has a different manufacturer for its batteries. cheers comrades!

The interstate battery finder vs. the Costco interstate finder.

The above battery is NOT correct for the newer RAM's, it is correct for his 04.5. See below both battery choices. search "Costco Battery Fitment Chart".

I didnt have good luck with the last several Interstates I had. Couldn't get em to last beyond 2-3 years in either my truck or the VW. I just put the 3rd battery in the VW in under 7 years, went back to Deka.

Agreed DEKA make good batteries. Where can you get that battery replaced "IF" you have an issue? The Costco batteries are always easy to get replaced. I bought 6v Interstates from NAPA at a ridiculous price and then come to find out they were Made in Mexico.

These have 42 month "free replacement" warranty.

If I have an issue I'll take it back to the place I got it. Never seen a battery just up and fail without any warnings. The odds of breaking down near enough to a Costco to be able to get there while broke down is probably slim, not something I'd bank on that's for sure. I dont have a Costco anywhere near me anyhow so it's all irrelevant to me.
For the 42 month warranty according to Interstate website you have to buy the MTZ line which I think is an AGM?. I'm not sold on them. I'll stick to the flooded.

As stated on page 1 of this thread, Napa branded batteries are made by East Penn mfg, otherwise known as Deka. It shouldn’t be hard to find a Napa store wherever you have a problem. They have a nationwide warranty.

Costco has the 42 month replacement NOT Interstate. Another benefit of buying Costco.

These newer trucks give little to no notice when the battery is going to die.

I’d your Deka labeled batterie dies is NAPA going to warranty it?

I’m going to assume you meant to say “ If your Deka labeled battery dies is Napa going to warranty it?
You should have read the posts. It would have saved me time and you embarrassment. The batteries are Made by East Penn mfg. The East Penn house battery is Deka. They make batteries for Napa. Ever see a Deka labeled battery in a Napa store? No. You see Napa batteries. Do you think Napa manufactures their own batteries? Do you think Napa will warrantya battery that says Napa all over it? Think before you respond.

I "THOUGHT", now here is my response to you jhenderson. --- attack removed by staff -- Asked a simple question and I get a lecture. NO I am NOT embarrassed. Yes i have read the posts.

Did you post a picture of a DEKA battery??? NO SIR you did not, JR did and I was responding to the DEKA Battery poster, NOT YOU!!!

Just because I posted right after YOU does NOT mean I was posting my question to YOU.

I will ask again, if a "PERSON" has a DEKA labeled battery will NAPA warranty your DEKA or not???

I thought we were all here to help each other???????????

Why would anybody think Napa would warranty a battery bought elsewhere? They sell Napa batteries, made by East Penn. Not Deka batteries made by East Penn. That’s even more ridiculous than your previous post.

I would never think about even attempting a warranty claim through Napa. Like I said, if I have a problem with it I'll take it back to the place I got it. After the experiences Ive had with Interstate starting in 2010 I've moved on to something else.

This is what I wasnt understanding. If you look at Interstate website only the MTZ have a 42 month warranty. MOST Interstates are 2-3 years and then prorated which I can tell you from experience Interstates protating sucks.

One of the reasons I went with what I did is because Deka has a 60 month warranty. Total replacement (not prorated) Bring it in and take a new one home. Evidently they are confident in their product .

I was wondering if DEKA would be able to get NAPA to help you out if you were traveling and the only place around was a NAPA store. I do understand if you are where they sell DEKA labeled or at the same place you bought it that would be the place to take the failed battery.

I travel a lot so it's nice to have a backup plan.

I shopped around a few months back. Rock Auto had the best price on Exide AMG batts they also had Decca. Shipping time was ok. So far I'm happy.....

Batteries on my 2015 longhorn ctd ,MC, Aisin, 4x4 are TOAST.
We don't have Costco here. There is a Napa, and a ram dealer.
Which battery is better, or proven reliable? Ram dealer would have to order. Not sure about Napa.
Flooded, or AGM type. Not an emergency, but I would like them soon. Thanks for any help.

Ordered the Napa branded Deka batteries . $143.00 ea.
The truck stated acting up this Winter early on. I got the battery saver mode a few times. Started using a trickle charger a couple of times a week all winter. The truck hasn't been driven much lately. Got a 2nd vehicle. Anyway 2 days ago I started it and got the (Service electrical braking system) reminder. As I went down the road I noticed the tow/haul wasn't working, and also no exhaust brake. Once I stoped and cycled the ignition a few times it all started working again. Went to town yesterday, and same thing.
Today loaded up the truck for a trash run, unhooked the battery tender, turned the ign key on to start and it just clicked.
So there are a couple of things that can be triggered by low Batteries. At least I hope that's all that is wrong. I'll know tomorrow.
