Time from order to delivery?

Can anyone provide some input on the current projected lead time for delivery of a new truck?

I ordered mine November 26th, picked up at dealer on January 4th.

Did you order the new HO Cummins engine? If so, I guess it will depend when it shows up in the plant for installation. I ordered my truck on August 5, 2010 and took delivery on September 11th.

I ordered my on Dec 6th and picked it up on Jan 14th. The Christmas/NewYears slowed things down some.

I ordered mine on Saturday January 15, 2010 and took delivery of it Monday March 21, 2011. It felt like it took FOREVER to get it, but it was SO worth the wait!!!!

I ordered mine on 20 Jan and I will be picking it up in a few days... not sure why it took 12 weeks but it has felt like a lifetime. I'm only guessing but I think the delay is due to switching from the 650 to 800 ftlb motor.

I was told by the local dealer yesterday that I'll be out of luck for ordering an '11 by the end of this month.

I was told by my dealer yesterday that the order for my 2011 Larime was not going to happen until the 2012s come out due to the earthquake in Japan, this is where they get the paint ( or pigment ) from and the color that I want ( red )can not be had until the 2012s can be ordered so check with your dealer as it will depend on your color choice

I was trying to order a new one this last weekend and was told two different stories by two dealers. on was could not order them because of supplies form Japan. The other was that that the 2011 build was done for the Cummings engines. So either way I guess we wait till the 2012s. Seems a little strange thought that the HO came out May 1st on the Dodge.com web site and it is the 16th and you cant order one.

Hopefully, this will help. I order new Dodge Ram HDs for a living and we ALWAYS get a 90 out projected delivery timestamp from the factory on stock orders as well as customer orders. This is the industry standard!!



Typically... we see trucks arrive at the dealership 8-10 weeks from the time the order is "accepted" for build at the factory. You do realize that the new Cummins HO 800 is here and I am placing them in the hands of my customers now! Just sent one home Saturday with some folks from Woodinville, WA. (in fact... it was a custome order)



Add this to the timeframe equation: the factory will wait to amass enough orders in a particular color and trim group before producing them - thus making the process more cost effective for them!

To clarify: you may have been ordering a "mettalic" based paint color and they were placed on restriction following the earthquake/nuclear fallout mess in Japan because the pigment used to make those colors came exclusively from a plant in Japan that was quarantined due to the radiation issues.
