Bill Gates could probably help ya...

I imagine DC has put something in place that won't let us dummies mess with their engine computers very much when it comes to reprogramming them. From what I gather the current fueling/timing boxes just fool the ECM into thinking the engine is not getting excess amounts of fuel or that the timing is getting changes and if it does detect something going awry, it spits a code at ya. You are defnitely on to something and would be a rich man if you could develop it, now get to work. I'm in...

Well the boxes do the fooling but the downloaders modify the code. I'd like a downloader with more than options 1, 2, 3 and 4. Gimme some menus and let me plug some numbers in. I ain't no dummie. I know what I want. Let me kill the pilot injection if I wanna. Let me advance the timing if I wanna. Let me kill the 3rd emissions pulse if I wanna. Let me make one long injection if I wanna. I ain't so interested in the pressure. I just wanna play with the timing, duration and number of pulses. That would be cool.

BullyDog! You reading this?

Received The Sensor! NO time tonight to install! Waaah!

But looking at it the modification is very well done. Looks quite precision, actually. I was expecting some gouped up POS that would work well but seem trashy. Not the case -- hats of to the rokktech folks.

For those who have installed it, do I HAVE to use the drop of locktite blue or can I just bypass that step? I don't have any laying around so in my haste I might want to do the install w/o the locktite. If it's mandatory, I'll comply. With the vibrations that go on with this engine I'd guess that it might be... .

Ryan! Did you order yours yet?

I just installed mine and I didn't use the locktight because I didn't have any, but there was not any on there anyway. I started it up engine sounded normal. Took it for a spin and the boost was lower than normal (1-2 lbs) and the egts were a little lower than normal (around 20*). I was going 60 in 6th gear. Lower end was more noticable. I also put on the muffler and no drone, I love it.

Was at the coast for the last 10 days in the 5wh, hills that I previously had to pull in fourth, I can now pull in fifth. Fuel economy does seem to be better. About . 5 to 1 MPG. Good Mod.

Ramsey Wood & Tom Kerrigan thanks for the reply.

Did you read that Ryan? The man said, "Good Mod. "

Name the million other projects! Just name 1 other project that can keep you from installing a $78 part in 5 minutes that will give you 40 mpg and 500 hp and 100% safety. I double-dog dare you... .

Ryan -- I'm so jazzed about you getting your timing sensor I'll make you a 1 time offer here and now. I'll buy it! That's right. If you post here in the next 30 minutes I'll buy you a high quality Rokktech crankshaft timing sensor, including shipping. * But only in the next 30 minutes. C'mon. Pickup the keyboard. Post now. Operators are standing by.

* This offer not available in FL and OH.

Ah, the old "offer not valid in OH" trick.

I'll get one, when I'm good and ready!

C'mon Ryan. You gotta laugh. It's all in fun. No hard feelings.

Besides -- I would have waived the disclaimer but you posted 1 minute too late... . :-laf
