Hi everyone I just bought a 96 3500 ram. I just put the 370 injectors, 100 plate, 3000gwk, adjusted the afc, and adjusted the overflow valve. All i need now is to get the timming set. I would like to go with 18* what is your guys input? I have 174. xxx miles on it. I know about letting it warm up i have ran my other 96 truck this way for 30,xxx mile on the stock HG before selling it. However some people have sugested i go with 17*. Would there be any differences? MPG, start up, or in Power going with 18* vs. 17*. Also this is something i dont have tools to do, so if some one in southeast MI wants to make a few extra bucks let me know cause i need to do the soon, the truck is starting much harder in the MI mornings with all the extra fuel_Dave. :D

I wouldnt go above 16* on the stock Headgasket or you will pop it. I got the tools but I believe its a bit of a drive from here. 16* would do you just fine.

Yea I know Greg He has worked on a couple of my trucks, he does a good job. Most likely it will be him setting the timing on this one also. I'll have to find some time to drive out there. Greg are you availiable this week?

I've driven my 96 for 30 k miles without poping it on 18*... What is the difference, if any between 16, and 18?
