I'm looking for any tips/suggestions for my first real experience towing with a gooseneck trailer with my truck. I will be making a trip from Nebraska to Michigan in a couple of weeks, around 1800 miles roundtrip. I will be using a buddies 25' or so gooseneck hauling aluminum window casings on the way up and a new dodge drivetrain and snowmobile on the way back.
Do you think I will have any trouble with my combo? I'm thinking if I just leave the comp box off, I should be fine with EGTs?
What does one of these trailers weigh empty?
I need to get a trailer brake purchased and installed before I go, any suggestions?
I've already got the big trailer plug down on my bumper, does a gooseneck usually have a long enough cord to reach this spot? The previous owner used to have a second plug installed in the bed, but he kept it.
