Past week's work...

New 245x19.5s on BFT

We just bought a 2001 Alfa Gold GF30RL.

Old owner says it has original tires. Definitely need replacement.

What tires do you recommend? Trailer is 13k.

If you do a search you will find a lot of posts about this topic. What size and load range are your tires? If they are 16" and load range E the general consensus here is the Michelin XPS Rib. I have them and they are good. Do not even consider any tire made in China.

I second the xps ribs if you have 16" wheels. Also It would be good to check the spring bolts if they have no grease fittings. If so ,they rely on plastic bushings that wear pretty fast and can change axle alignment. A set of greasable bolts and oilite bushings are a fairly cheap inprovement. Happy Trails:)

Hey thanks for the advice. I do have 16" tires. And, have used Michelins on my truck and vans. At 200. 00 apiece the Michelins are pretty pricey but cheap if you can trust them

After you spend money repairing your wheel well and trim because your cheapas_ Chinese tire blew, the $200 is worth it. Have fun with your new trailer!

The other option is with the Goodyear G614. It is 235-16 G rated tire made in the U. S. A. Inflation pressure is 110 psi. These were the only ones I could find made in the USA and G rated when I needed tires for our 5er that weighs 12,400 empty. The dealer also said to keep these tires aired to 110 at all times. Its supposed to keep them cooler. Ponz

I agree with everyone about Michelin XPS Rib. Check with Discount Tire for better prices.
