Tired of cleaning off soot, HELP!!

Since I have added my Banks monster exhaust I have been having a terrible problem of soot building up on the lower rear quarter panel just above the exhaust. What makes it worse is that my truck is white.



How have others minimized this? Should I move the tip further out or eliminate the tip and maybe even cut off some of the exhaust so it is not so close to the quarter panel? Would a turn down tip help at all?

longer tip or maybe a turn down tip that is tilted to exit more to the rear than down... ?

phil,, adding a turn down solved the soot problem for me. if you decide on a turn down you might as well go with a 6 inch like mine.
