brake pedal pushes back

I took delivery of my 2014 3500 DRW two days ago. When driving it home it had considerable vibration in the floor boards and fuel pedal (foot was going numb). I had just put Firestone Transforce HTs on the 2003 traded in but it was still to be delivered to the dealer. I took both trucks to my tire dealer and exchanged the Firestones for the Generals. End of vibration problems. HOWEVER in remounting the tires on the 2014 Alcola rims we found thet only the outside of the rims had been polished. It's going to make rotating tires interesting to say the least. I did call Chrysler to inquire if this is normal practice.

Forget rotating! Run 80 in the fronts at all times and 45 in rear solo. I run 60 in the rears with 4,500# pin weight.

Generals are a P O S !!!!!!!!!!!!

The edges cupped and were 2/3 worn at 25K. They developed a front tire tread bulge Replaced with Michelin MS2 and 10 K later they look new.

With all the problems we have all had with General tires, I'm wondering if there will be a class action like there was on the continental tires Chrysler was shipping the new 300c with back in 05. I received around $500 back.

I know one thing when I pick up my 14 with air ride suspension next year it WILL have Michelin MS2 tires. I will sell the Generals on Craigs List for 6-$800. Really sad a 60K truck has such lousy tires.

I had the front right come apart with a load of hay on the bed... definitely not a fan of Generals. Replaced with Michelins; now the ride and my confidence are much improved.

The non polished inner surface on your alloy dually wheels is very common, be it Chevy, Ford, Dodge Freightliner or Kenworth.

I put a ton of pellets in my truck last Friday thinking it would smooth the ride or jarring part down. Wrong, it made it worse. I must have a bad tire. I'm taking to the dealer one last time and if that doesn't get me anywhere I'm buying new tires.

I am surprised that the dually came with Generals. I am happy so far with the Firestone Transforce tires on my 2013 SRW.

My local tire shop turned me on to the Firestones several years back and I've been running the AT's ever since. I've had excellent luck with them. In fact, I have the Firestones on all my vehicles except my 1500 which I'm running Michelins.

I believe the Generals have been standard issue on the dually for quite a few years. Many of the guys around here have dumped them as soon as they took delivery of their trucks in favor of Michelin or the Firestones.

My 2014 Dually came with Generals too. I'll drive it until they wear down and go to Michelins.

Mine has the forged Alcoa aluminum wheels. Four of them. The rear inner are plain black, I don't know what they are made of. The aluminum wheels are only polished on the side that shows. I don't think I'll rotate the tires if they need to be remounted and balanced every time.

Wow. My Generals lasted 95,000 on the front, but only 45,000 on the rears. Put four Goodyears on the back and the
best of two off a set at the house, which are Gens.

Just rotated my Generals and found a bubble on top with the tread on the inner right dual. 50K on the set and just about to the wear bars. Brand new spare (bought in 09) put on right front. Will be going to Michelin in May if I can run them that much longer. Anyone interested in buying my spare with about 5K miles on it in May, Can PM me.

My drivers front tire had a bubble on the tread in Vegas on my way to May Madness this year. This was at 25K and they were 2/3 worn out.

JUNK JUNK JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always had good luck with Michelin, and will stay with them. The Generals that came with the truck was non negotiable, I held out the purchase for a couple of weeks but the fleet manager wouldn't budge. The reason I bought the spare, new in 09, was because I lost the inner dual for reasons I can't explain, never held it against General tire. It was -10* at the Nev/Cal boarder on the 395, when I left for the final trek home towing my new to me 05 AF fiver. I had a vibration that I couldn't find that eventually went away. It turned out the inner dual went flat and due to the cold was frozen in a out of round shape, causing the vibration. I made it home and found it when I separated the fiver from the truck, just went and bought a new one, and used it on the one I replaced last night.
