I recall quite a few guys referring to the Coopers (can't remember the model) A/T's and commenting how good they were.

Questions:

Haven't found Coopers yet in my area. Wher'd you get them, store name?

Thinking about 295/75/16's (don't want to go up to 305)

What load range do you have? What pressures can they run? I saw some of the larger 295 non-Cooper's load w/range D's, the max psi was 45? That's no good for us - right.

What kind of wear mileage are you experiencing.

Plan on keeping stock chrome wheels.

Appreciate comments - need to get them this weekend, Firestones are getting slippery when wet:eek: - not fun.

Thanks

Joe Mc

Look up Hammer and send a PM he has a new set of Coopers on his truck now and likes them.

Good Luck

Coopers

I was never one to buy off-brand tires or anything else for that matter... So once I tried the Coopers on a truck I had about 10 years ago... Best tires I ever had... used them on most of my vehicles ever since.

About 6 months ago, I bought some tires from Les Schwab... they claumed they were made by Cooper. . same tread pattern, etc,etc,... . 12k mile later I'm looking for some new tires. . they were crap... ... Buy the real thing. .

There is an independent dealer here that sells the big-dog out of them. I had a pair of mudgrips for a couple of thousand miles and liked em. They were mastercraft which is made by Cooper.

I had a set of Cooper Discoverer on my old truck. They are a mud tire and were 33x12. R15 that about 305/70r16 I think. They were good tires and wore well on both highway and off-highway. I would probably buy them again

Good luck

Coopers tires

I dont have coopers on my rig now, but thats all i use to run. My next set will be coopers. They are a good tire. On my ram charger 4x4 i can get at least 60 thousand on a set. They work pretty good in the white and black stuff. The only time i ever got a flat on any tire is when they were wore out. Always wore even also.

I put a set of coopers on my truck in December. I have Discoverer M&S on the back and Discoverer H/T on the front.

I love both of them. They have good grip on the road, quiet, excellent steering response, and in spite leaving some long dual black strips on the pavement trying to get a 1/4 mile time, the winter treads seem to be wearing decently anyway.

I'm going to get 2 more H/T's for the rear for summer use.

BTW, I have the load range D tires. 265/75-16

i'm running 255/85 discoverers and they handle pretty well, but if anything seem to be wearing a little quickly. one thing i'll note is that compared to other 255's i've seen they are very narrow. even more so potentially than the stock 245's.

I just put a set of 315x15 AT's on mine and there ride very good. No noise, smooth ride and great looks. I've used Cooper on vehicles for the last 15 years and have had NO problems with them. I have been in some AWFUL places in Colorado, rocks etc... and never had any problems at all.

I have run Cooper 285R75/16's on my truck without any problems, however I only got 30,000 mile out of them. The dealer pro-rated them and I switched to 305R70/16. The dealer could not get them to balance. The dealer got a real poor attitude, instead of trying to fix the problem he refunded my money without giving me the pro-rated credit back.

I have since then went to the Bridgestone Duellers A/T 285R75/16's. I only have 4,500 miles on them. However the dealer told me that if I rotated them every 5,000 miles, he would give me a 50,000 mile full replacement treadlife warranty. The warranty is what made me try the Bridgestone.

I must say the Bridgestone Duellers are quite and have good traction.

Coopers

Just as soon as the refund from the tax man comes i gona get the SRM ll for my beastie. Iran coops on my other truck for ten years and liked them muchly . :) :) Oo.

I have been running Cooper Discoverer LT 255-85-16 for about 100,000 miles (not on just one set!). They have done very well for me on wet and dry pavement, mud, snow, ice, rocks, dirt. The rubber compound is a good compromise of soft for traction vs. hard for long wear. I get them from the local OK Tire store.

cooper's

JOE Mc, I just got my cooper's on thurs. the 11th, waited almost three weeks for them the dealer said they were on back order. called the dealer and told him that i needed them before the 15th and said that they were put back in production and i would have them on the 10th or the 11th. very nice tire quiet ride no humming. i've got 305/70/16.

Does any one know how the SMR 11"s preform on a 1 ton 4x4 on wet & dry black top and what mileage are they rated to last.

I just got a price for 6 at $93 apiece Computer Balanced & mounted for the 235x85 R x 16 load range E black letter tire.

This is a Fire Fighter apprecation price from a local Tire shop. The owner suggested I run the SMR 11's over the HT's or other tires.

He said they were a heavy duty commerical rated tire. I forgot to ask about how many miles they should last with proper inflation and rotation mantiance.

Thanks, TJ

Cooper Rock baby....

Joe,,Sorry I missed this thread but I have been out of town,,I have installed the Cooper Discoverer ST's 265/75R16 load range E on my truck and wish I had done it sooner,,They are quite the handling piece in any weather I have had them in so far,,They grip well on rainslick roads and snow does not phase them,,They come highly touted by the area Cooper rep,,We stumbled across them when my used truck dealer friend was shopping for new tires for his truck,,The Cooper dealer had the area rep stop to see him and brought the tire along,,He explained to him that this tire was designed for our trucks with a stiffer sidewall and a better tread compound designed for longer life and if he did not like them he would take them back,,He did not like them as they wandered on his truck(later which was found to be a bad track bar and steering stabilizer, not the tires) and had the newer Cooper M&S put on,,He likes them better and seems to think they are quieter,I see no difference,,The St's then ended up on mine and man do I like them,,I have a current Cooper catalog here if you want it PM or email me your address and I'll send it to you,,The largest without going to the 305's is a 285/75R16 LR D(max load cap 3000lbs) in most of their tires,,If I can help let me know, the Cooper dealer is a stones throw away and I can send you the number..... Andy
